  • Bz, I've heard a lot of people recommend the Jazz as being a good choice. I think the Suzuki Jimny (?) is similar and has been around for yonks.
I have a Corsa - automatic as it cuts out all that pesky legwork. I find it OK, but on longer journeys, the seats are not v comfortable and the boot is teeny tiny. Have you thought about an Astra? I used to swear by them and there are lots of autos around of all ages. Take the salesman with you when you buy!!

Raeh, I do hope the GP helps. And you aren't a winger - a winger is someone who isn't ill! I've found over the years that unless I take action to rest straightaway after a knock of some kind, the symptoms tend to last for ages and ages.
And yes, she meant the Ogre. The worst part of it is she's not so far wrong! When I sa her in the Summer staying in Bideford, she looked at me and said "Dude, you look rough in the mornings!" I told her that was why I didn't get second dates :D Yeah right, like I get first dates

Athensgeorgia, welcome to you and your Mum. We are a font of [strike]nonsense[/strike] all knowledge and everyone is welcome. It's always good to feel you are not alone in your suffering iykwim.

Just shopped in M&S as they whoopsie products at the end of the day and stocked up a bit. Bag of 10 chook breasts for £5! However, some chocolate godies seemed to fall in as well. Dunno how that happened

Intend to root out wool, needles and hopefully an old DVD on how to knit, so if you hear screams of frustration ....

Thanks for the reply. She has Amitriptyline but avoids taking it cause of how it affects her the next day and its the 10mg dose. She wants to know if Tramadol has side effects? Her arthiritis is in her back but sometimes she wonders if the FM is causing the pain too, she hasn't been given any painkillers for the arthiritis and wants to know if anyone else was diagnosed with it after they were diagnosed with FM or if its just one of those things to have both of these problems?

    Again many thanks :D

I think you kind of get used to the Amitriptyline, but I know what you mean - I recently asked my doc if there was an alternative am in the process of goin over onto pregabalin/lyrica which I'm hoping will be better but are making me sleepy right now. The tramadol has been known to make people feel rather spacey, but other than that I don't think so. Some people don't like that kind of spacey/woozy kind of feeling - and whilst I fully understand that - sometimes it's kind of nice to have a break from the nervey symptoms/electric shock-tingle feelings/pain for at least a while. The thing with tramadol, that I've found, is when it wears off I feel itchy - like when you have a numbing injection at the dentist and hours later your mouth starts coming back and your cheek gets a bit itchy?
As for the arthritis, I can't really comment. I have some damage to my knee so I wouldn't be surprised if I was, at some point, diagnosed with arthritis - especially as my dad has it. I think a few bods on here have both so I'm guessing they'll get back to you when they come back in and spot your post :)

  • I don't find Tramadol makes me spacey unfortunately, but if I take it too often, it gives me awful headaches.

I can't help about the arthritis I'm afraid as I only have arthritis is my neck as a result of a car accident years ago and my pains are mainlly muscular rather than joint.

Don't worry, I intend to! Even if he comes with he says he'll just do the bartering on the phone for us - but it'll be better if he's there cos last time he got loadsa stuff thrown in from car mats to 6 month warrantee! :T I want something with lotsa room, cos we'll actually use it most for bigger journeys as OH is getting just a little runaround. I like my cabin space and being able to stretch out on a long journey. (My family's spread around the UK so that's what we'll use it for when we'll *need* it to be comfy-or at least *I* will:D) Other than my little tootling to/from the shops and appointments. I found the Jimny rather narrow, so gave up on that one. The corsa's too small and OH has a grudge with Vauxhall (for some unknown unfathomable reason ). I would love an automatic (to cut out the pesky legwork..and armwork tbh).

Funny how that happens innit? I might have to accidentally have to nip out and stumble upon some chocolatey goodness later :D I feel a mint magnum coming on. Just to balance against me making real food - again! Pasta bake is in the oven as we speak... are you proud?

Why do we feel guilty though, that's what I want to know...? Who said that posts had to be "just so" long etc....? I say we let rip :D

Til teacher steps in again, o' course :p

  • Yay on the pasta bake BZ. Well done. Unfortunately, I never make it as it brings embarrasing memories of an ex who used to make it.
Have you thought about getting a slow cooker - BZ or anyone. I don't have space for one, but have heard they can make life easier.
We talked about calendars etc pages and pages ago, and I've re-found the one I used to use - Rainlender. The Lite version is freeware as far as I remember. It works for my anyway.
I'm glad it's getting to be evening. I hate Sundays with a vengence. I'm not entirely sure why. Errrr, it is Sunday isn't it? :o

Thanks for all help last night. Sheets came out of the dishwasher beautifully clean, but the plates didn't fare too well :D

BZ - kwym - I suppose I just feel I'm bucking against the "norm", but then I've always been known as an unconventional conventionalist

    welcome athensgeorgia and frances
i cant add much to whats been said but i have been careful about not taking painkillers all the time and only when i 'need' them and we have talked recently about them only working when you have them constantly in your system so thats what im trying at the moment :) im about to up my dose of pregabalin and i will be a total spaceman for a few days which is quite nice but only when i dont have to work

I thought about it. And that was it. :D
Maybe when we have our marital home and I don't avoid the kitchen out of principle..? (If you're wondering, the cooking as mentioned the last few days has occured in OH's/MIL2B's kitchen - completely different (although almost just as tiring))
