  • Hello Kevin and welcome. It's amazing how many symptoms we all have in common whether we have Fibro or something similar.
We're a lovely bunch, for the most part
Some of us talk sense, some rubbish and some are obsessed with weddings :D

I'm struggling with what to have to eat tonight. Since acquiring a Freezer, my food is no longer in the fridge ready to eat and I keep forgetting to defrost something for dinner. I am getting fed up with cheese on toast despite being a huge cheese lover.
    So, ice cream or cheesecake?
Or a balanced diet - one in each hand
    :D
So the next expense has got to be a microwave. Wouldn't be without mine. Erm... you are aware that most things can be cooked from frozen, aren't you? Just because the destructions say "defrost thoroughly" doesn't always mean that they can't be shoved in the oven straight from the freezer. Just allow extra time for it to cook (and maybe turn the oven down a notch or 2 so it takes longer to brown/crisp up.

  • I also forget to eat - my OH works p/t and if she's out and prepares a sandwich or whatever for me I just forget and don't eat - I put it down to the tabs suppressing the hunger pangs.
Got to be careful though as if I don't eat enough I find it can bring on my epilepsy if I am not careful - next thing I know I'm on the floor thinking 'I shouldn't be down here' - It can be rather difficult at times to get oneself backup using an office type chair, the darned things rotate when you put weight on them!!!
My 'pewter is in a small building, 10ft x 10ft, that I built 15 - 16 years ago when I as fitter, [oh they were the days....], so when the door is closed no-one can see if I am sprawled out flat on the floor!

Thank-you to everyone by the way and hello again, I will be on here when I can which will probably be odd hours here and there.
    Kevin.

Pooh. I sometimes feel as though I have Cystitis when I plainly haven't and although it burns a little when I go, I'm absolutely fine afterwards.
I can feel I need to go to the loo and it's hardly worth it or I pee like a horse! No, not on all fours on the grass Thank you very much wise @rses :D
Got me thinking of a horse I had called Bluey. He was a very old man and used to not pee in his stable. When we let him out in the morning, he would go for hours, legs all akimbo, whilst grunting with pleasure (and, I'm sure) relief, and waving his front leg in the air. Oh, I loved that boy :D

Now, sheets in the washing machine and plates in the dishwasher - that right isn't it? Or is it the other way round?

Yep, that is like me, the horse too! Was it you had something else, not FMS? So is the cystitis feeling caused by something other than FMS, not that I am trying to self diagnose, much! My GP always asks what we think we have, so annoying. I thought that was his job/

Yes, yes you would s/e. ;)
(Me too :D although mother always said that if she didn't know what was wrong with me the doc wouldn't either. To some extent she's been right - esp when I had an xray that showed I had 3 broken bones and the doc was about to discharge with no further action saying my foot was fine..!)

I think that's why I won't bother shopping much anymore cos I'll just forget what fresh stuff I've bought, completely ignore it and then it's just complete waste. Which drives me mad.

Ha - mentioning swivel chairs - I've tried climbing on one to twitch my curtains...once. And only once.
As for the little outhouse (which is the image I have)...and I'm aware that I have no idea as to epilepsy, so please forgive my ignorance... but is that the best solution for computer station? Perhaps a laptop would be more useful?

Erm... more like laziness. Getting really tired and the pills are wearing off so I'm starting to hurt like &uggery.

I'll be off to bed soon, so if I don't post again tonight, night folks and I'll catch up with you all again tomorrow.

Sleep well and if you must dream, may they be pleasant ones.

No not really I also have a problem with my eyesight, [told you my memory was shot at!] I suffer from nystagmus and as such I use a BIG monitor, think it's 26 inch, set at 800 x 600 resolution. It still jumps around the place but it's that damn big it takes forever to move!
Silly thing about it there is nothing wrong with my eyesight at all --- It's all in my brain - [my little finger left hand], and the damn epilepsy is causing the problem with my eyes and they can't sort it because the neurons etc are stuffed and won't grow back.
    Kevin.
  • Sweet dreams s/e. Catch you later. BTW, I do hve a microwave, but it's an oldie without a defrost function and it's one where some parts cook and other parts remain frozzeded.

Kevin, it makes a change from the medics telling us it is all in out brains when it isn't.

Pooh, yes, I have MCTD, Lupus and T-Cell Lymphoma. Oh and the usual IBS too. Amazing how many symptoms are so similar to Fibro etc and as I've said before, am absolutely convinced there is a link between AI and CNS probs.

BZ stop showing off with your cooking! Seriously, well done. I get stressed these days trying to get two dishes ready together and at the same time.

I am now officially ceasing to make sense, so time to get a few more drugs on board and I'll pop back later, no doubt.

Kevin, you can kiss any type of outside interest goodbye when you get sucked into this thread!

Evening all and welcome to the newcomers .

I don't know where today has gone - I remember getting up this morning and travelling to the station with DH to pick up DD2. She wanted to call in at the wool shop on the way back and I know we spent a bit of time in there because they were phoning around trying to get the wool she wanted in all the same dye lot.

Has anyone come up with any useful remedies over the years? I remember taking the supplement MSM for a while at one point - but it didn't seem to do much for me.

A few of my friends swear by Woodlock bought from Chinese herbalists. It comes in a bottle and you only need a few drops rubbed on to help with muscle pain. I prefer Pernaton myself (green-lipped mussel extract) and I've found that it especially helps the pains in my knees. I rubbed some in during last night when the pain woke me up and when I got back into bed the heat that built up was quite intense - but nice, so I fell back to sleep very quickly.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has come up with any miracles though. I won't say miracle 'cures' - just miracles :D.

    Hi Kevin,

Nystagmus - That's where your eyes move uncontrollably isn't it? Only reason I recognise it is that Pruitt Taylor Vance, the actor who played Father Hennessey in the film 'Constantine' has it. It's also associated with MS from what I've read. Does a bigger monitor help with this then?
