Post Office abuse about prepay paypal postage
Comments

how does the prepay thing work ? - is it any good ? - drawbacks ? - been Ebaying for 8 years and allways had to q with the muttering masses it it worth doing ?
You select print postage label which will be next to the transaction. Really easy to do, you will need your own scales to weigh your parcels first. But it means you don't have to pay for postage out of your own pocket and wait a week for the money back. It is the same price as the PO, So nothing to do with price as you get no discount. (Well I never have and have used it loads of times) It is basically there because it is easier, you can make sure you post to the confirmed address through paypal and print off and stick to the parcel, even has your return address printed on it. very handy. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

i take all my post in labelled bags and just hand them over with £20 or so. only thing is getting a chance to collect receipts and change, over xmas I had about 5 lots build up because every time i went in it was too busy to sort out.
still, i save an age in waiting around 3 times a week.:grouphug:
no wonder he has a smile on his face...0 -
I buy stamps in bulk from the PO and stamp them up at home before returning to the PO. I've tried a few different methods and this way is the quickest for me and the PO staff love me as I spend an awful lot but don't cause them too much trouble!
I buy in a wide range of value stamps (ie £1, 50p, 20p, 10p etc) and it suits me just fine.
Hope that helps,

Do you have to buy special stickers to print on, and doesn't this way cost alot in printer ink?You select print postage label which will be next to the transaction. I have experienced negativity from PO staff when taking my ebay parcels in their (usually 20 packages weekly) I have not been doing it long (only a couple of months) and am shocked with the attitude the majority give you. I have had staff tutting and going on about how they are going to need a lie down after doing all my parcels etc..
I now do the rounds at 4 different post offices by me, because I don't want it to seem like i'm bothering each post office too much.
Stupid I know, I mean I am giving them business at the end of the day.
I would love to see what would happen if someone bought their books and records in to me at work to prepare their accounts and I just started tutting and going on about how busy I was etc etc... I think I would lose my job.
There is one staff member at one of the PO's who is brill however, he does the parcels in mega quick time and even predicted what sex my unborn baby was going to be - Amazing!!0 -

If you want, but I just use paper which I get cheap. Hardly costs much and it saves me time having to pay for postage out of my pocket, I can just use my PP balance. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Doesn't take long for the racists to crawl out does it.
Nope, not at all.
It's funny though, most of these racists fail to realise how much cash actually flows through London, from which we benefit massively. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Paying for it via your PP doesn't feel like it's real money either! Only downside is you can't print em off in 2nd Class.
I often get moaned at for taking stuff into my local P.O with pre paid postage and always get abuse when I kindly offer them the POP to stamp. they normally refuse saying it's against their policy.
I tell them that I'm an area manager for RM and it shuts them up...0 -
what about a first class prepaid item (normal weight) how much extra should that be for special delivery (is the pre-printed postage ignored or included?).0

Hi everyone,
I need your help/advice. Here is the story:
I need to post 10-15 items a day, every working day. I print/pay my postage via PayPal as this saves me time, and I can use my balance to pay for it. Everyday I come in to my local PO with a pile of parcels in my hands first I get strange 'looks' from all the cashiers/assistants.
First few weeks they kept asking me to put each parcel on the scales, then turn the address to them so they can enter it in their systems. Even though I was saying to them that they can see the weight printed on the label and they don't need to weight it, they kept saying that they asking me to do this for my own sake as if I made a mistake they double check so parcel doesn't come back to me or recipient is not asked to pay 'extra' on top. Eventually and strangely one by one (all of them cashiers) agreed to take them inside so then they can take one parcel at a time, see the weight and enter it in their systems. Either way, it takes them half an hour to do 10-15 parcels while I'm standing there and listening how other customers complaining about the wait.
This lasted few weeks, until new boy in town (cashier) called me to his "Till number 2 please....!" I came to his window and said "Do you want to take them inside?" He asked me why? I showed him one of the smaller parcels, and explained that the postage is already paid and printed on them, also there are required labels on them (Recorded, Special or International Signed For). He smiled and said that there is no need as long as I have written down the address and corresponding barcode of each parcel somewhere at home in case I would need to claim. He said he can just scan the barcodes. He said that he can do 10 in a row max. Then he clicks something on his system and he can do another 10. This was amazing I thought! It took like 2 minutes to scan all 15 parcels, after he scanned all my parcels he said he is done, handed me 2 receipts, one contained 10 barcodes another 5.
Next day I came in and saw another assistant, like usually he wanted to take the parcels inside. I kindly said that he should speak to his colleague and ask him how to scan them as this is a lot quicker. He did ask, and was showed how to do this. Again, I left in 2 minutes with a receipt.
Next day I came in and saw another assistant (a very rude one). Why? Because one day he showed me a leaflet which said 'Fast Drop-Off' and said if I use it I can come in, drop my parcels off and leave, don't even need to que up. I explained to him that I already looked in to this and it is not for me as I would have to enter all the addresses myself on Royal Mail website to print their labels/stamps, it's not like PayPal where is address is already filled for you and you just need to choose a service, enter the weight and click print. Now back to that day where I said to him that he can do it quicker and should ask his colleague how it needs to be done. He got really angry and said "Are you going to use 'Fast Drop-Off' ? I replied 'No, because I explained why' then he said: "SO WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO THIS THE QUICK WAY" He wanted them inside and done one by one like the old times. I didn't want to argue with him as I felt really threatened so I just went along with him.
Next day I came in, and hear "Till number 4 please" I look at number 4 and see that nasty rude assistant standing there. I looked at the customer behind me and said that he can jump the que so he went to see him. Eventually "Till number 2 please" was called and I went to see that nice chap you come up with this quick way. Just after he said hello to me that other very-rude-assistant said something to him (I didn't hear what exactly) this nice chap turned to me and said I'm sorry but I have to take them inside, I said why? He said because they can do the quick way anymore, I asked since when? He just replied that they can't do it. So.... we back to the old way, I have to stand there until their enter every parcel into their systems....
So please explain some one. Am I being bullied? Or is it really impossible to scan them quickly without entering in their systems?
Thank you!0
