Thanks Yukki, I've booked an appointment with the bank on Thursday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Failing that all we can do is try and get a loan. OH has offered to do it in his name if they won't give my dad all/some of the money as he is paid very well. He knows we aren't the kind of people who wouldn't pay it off asap, but I'd still much rather he didn't have to because it's our mess and he shouldn't have to sort it out.

Oscar is still doing well though which is great to hear.

I haven't updated for a while so it's probably time.

Oscar was put to sleep on Monday whilst I was at work. It was really hard at the time as none of us were there, and I still really miss him. Although we still have our other dog left he's 11 and obviously doesn't bound about like Oscar used to.

At the time I said I didn't want another dog, I wanted him, and although I still do I miss him so much I really want a Leo puppy. My dad kept in touch with Oscar's breeder and apparently she's having some more puppies around Christmas, so I'm going to see what happens with the mortgage. I know my dad will get another dog in time and it will be a few months before the puppies are ready to go to new homes anyway. I know getting another Leo would make him happy after how rubbish the year has been.

We went to the bank who won't let me on the mortgage because although the accept that people can have temporary jobs which are basically permanent, I'd need to have been there 12 months and its only been 6. OH is now insisting that we try and get him to be a guarantor instead so he has an appt with the bank on Tuesday with my dad. Can only really hope now. Although I know that my dad won't default I still don't like him having this much responsibility so I've told him I still want to try and switch it to my name in six months.

I went to see Middlesborough lose yesterday as OH's work paid for that and lunch/travel etc. It was quite fun but I'm more of an Arsenal girl so it wasn't quite the same lol.

Anyway, I'm cooking for everyone tonight so I need to run off and make dinner. I'm going to leave with a picture of Oscar relaxing on the South Downs in happier times. My grandad loved dogs so I'm sure wherever he is now he's being well looked after :).

He is a beautiful dog, so sorry to hear he got put down. I am sure your Grandad is looking after him.

That is a pain about the mortgage, that is really nice of your OH to offer though.

Thanks Wendz. It is really nice of him, lots of people in the same situation wouldn't and I could completely understand if he didn't want to. I didn't even ask him, he was the one that suggested it.

I'm sooo hot. I've just put the dinner in the oven, it's piri piri chicken so I'm not even eating it, and its taken an hour to make lol.

I haven't posted in here for ages again... I've been having a bit of a rough time lately, but hopefully things will start getting better from now.

In the end we got a loan for 11k to pay my mum off, the repayments are £239 a month over 5 years. I sorted it out and got us a zopa one so that we can make over payments without getting penalised. I'm aiming to get it paid off in a couple of years which should be achievable as I'm paying at least £200, OH is paying £100 as he stays at ours almost every night, and my mum is contributing £50. That means we're already overpaying by £110 a month, and when my brother gets a job he can add another £200 which will obviously speed things up.

I found out yesterday that my dad was scammed out of £1200 on the internet through his own stupidity. Whilst I'm pretty annoyed about it as the money was supposed to go towards paying the loan off, I'm *trying* to let it go, because I know he's never getting the money back so there isn't much point dwelling on it. I'm not very good at letting things go but I'm working on it...

There is some good news at least though, I've got another £30 of added to my Amazon vouchers from surveys, and I'm one short of being able to get a global test market cheque.

Thanks Wendz, I've been tempted to spend my Amazon vouchers on something to cheer me up lately but I'm trying to hold out for the tv, it would be pretty good to get a free one.

If anyone is interested in having a look I've just been putting some photos of my jewellery on facebook, this is the link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=94332&id=286303595&l=ddb8b7af0c

Sorry you've been having a tough time Nicki. I don't let go of things easily either but you're right if it's not coming back then I think you have to let it go.

Your jewellery is lovely by the way.
