• Hi... I'm pleased to say that after waiting since October 8th at 11.30... my 35K has arrived this afternoon in Nationwide account! I am so grateful for all the support I got from this site/forum and will do my best to help anyone else now. I've just got off the phone to ING and told them (true) that I was due to be interviewed for BBC News. They put me through to someone who said he had the 'latest' on the transfers.... I'm going to post another 'post' in 5 minutes on here with details once I've listened to the conversation - yes! ... I recorded it!
It's an amazing feeling to get the money through at last ... like Christmas morning etc. But I will continue to monitor this forum and have some possibly useful info from both ING and Nationwide.... 5 minutes please!!
• icon7.gif I am sorry to see no-one else reporting success tonight. My wife started her Chaps for £10k on 7th and we a delighted to report that it now showing in her Barclays current account this evening (Monday 20/10/08). Can't give a time of arrival as we have been out this afternoon. It wasn't there at luchtime. It shows in the Barclays account as "outward transaction" despite being a credit

We used those email addresses of the ING executives to accuse them of lying by sending a link to this forum and a scan of our account and the CHAPS transaction screen scrapes. I have no idea if that made a difference.

I have to log off for a while now - tea to cook. I'm away from the computer all day tomorrow but will check in asap to offer my virtual support to anyone still waiting.

I’m joining tmvc2007, not literally, mine’s lunch, better late than never. I hope to hear some more good stories later.

Feel very sorry for those still waiting for their money because it looks as though a large number if not the majority have now arrived.
On the positive side for those still waiting:
1. At least CHAPS payments have moved and possibly still are are moving to correct accounts
2. If you need to contact ING tomorrow there will be a lot less traffic so you may be able to get more attention and more sensible answers than today
3. This whole issue has clearly become high profile within ING so I'd hope they just want to get all outstanding problems resolved asap
Hope tonight or tomorrow sees you reunited with your money.

• You are kidding, right? What's wrong with Northern Rock, even at 2% AER?

I am an optimist at heart. This trobled time will pass. Moved it to HBOS IOM. Dont think UK government will allow it to fail. Its guaranteed in IOM to 50k now.

• Hi Twiggles,

I too transfered by CHAPS seom money to my Nat west account on the 7/10. This was done over the phone before the 2pm chaps deadline. Money STILL not reached Nat west - strangely KE have refunded my £20 Chaps fee today!

I have had my money this afternoon and I can't pretend to know what it feels like for those that are still waiting but it is looking good for every single one of Kaupthing's depositors as ING is now clearly paying out and have been funded by our government to do exactly that.

Ignore all the guff about ING taking £7bn to recpaitalise, everyone's doing it. Looks like massive government cash injections for struggling banks is this season's "must have" accessory.

I'm sure it's tough but hang in there if you are still waiting. It's obviously a case of "when" now for everybody rather than "if"

I'm sure all those that have been paid are sticking around too.:T
Hear,hear- I'm sticking around till everyone is sorted-this thread was too important for me to cut n run when my cash appeared! Felt like part of a big (un)happy family-group hug everyone!!
Debt-free...and staying that way...

Hi folks,

Great news that a lot of you seem to be getting your money now, and as Martin said, we will keep on going till everyone has.

Just to let you know, someone from ING Direct will be posting on this thread a little later under the uncanny username 'ING Spokesperson', so if you see them I can confirm they are legit and sanctioned by us to post.

Dan

So where is this ING Spokesperson? Did I blink and miss it? Or are ING continuing the novel customer service approach of promising but not delivering.

plus ca change!
CHAPS out 8 Oct KE - received 20 Oct A+L
Still here for moral support.
• New to this posting lark but thought i'd advise my £35k CHAPS payment of Tuesday 7th 11.30am arrived in my HSBC account this afternoon sometime between 4pm-6pm. I hasten to add minus the £20 CHAPS fee - cheeky b@stards!
Thank you to all who have posted and good luck those who are still waiting.

The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)
