You are kidding, right? What's wrong with Northern Rock, even at 2% AER?0 -
Still waiting for my £36k to Barclays Account, just checked nothing there. I don't know what to say really...0

I have had e-mail from Ing on 15 10 08 saying that my money is safe. I had a Kaupthing Edge £34,900 1 year bond. I am unable to sign onto the Kaupthing Edge site, even though Ing says that I should be able to. I am concerned that our UK gov guarentee no longer applies to money in ING. They seem to have handed over my money to what may prove an unreliable Dutch Bank. I feel let down by our government. What do you all think? Is there any possibility if the web site ever comes on line again it would be possible/advisable to try and transfer the money back to my account?
Just logged in, no problem.
Make sure you’re details are correct, including any capitals.0 -

Unless your circumstances are oddball...like closing fixed rate acnts, telephone transaction etc etc, chances are good that it will be in your account tomorrow. Personally I think its your bank er ex building society halifax. It I think still works like a building society, taking extra time to clear things. Thats what I think..........try and think positive.
thanks for the support... no oddball situation for me, others have received CHAPS payments into Halifax today though.0 -

Bigg....you are not alone on the checking front!
So upset for those who haven't yet got their money (not as upset as them I guess), but I remember how bad I felt on Friday. Really, this has been/still is a nightmarish experience.
I have had my money this afternoon and I can't pretend to know what it feels like for those that are still waiting but it is looking good for every single one of Kaupthing's depositors as ING is now clearly paying out and have been funded by our government to do exactly that.
Ignore all the guff about ING taking £7bn to recpaitalise, everyone's doing it. Looks like massive government cash injections for struggling banks is this season's "must have" accessory.
I'm sure it's tough but hang in there if you are still waiting. It's obviously a case of "when" now for everybody rather than "if"
I'm sure all those that have been paid are sticking around too.:T0 -

Can't comment on some of your worries, but, as regards the guarantee, you are kind of right - ING is NOT covered directly by FSCS, but by the Dutch own scheme, guarantees up to 100,000 euros (70-something-K GBP). So in fact the cover is BETTER. I know we talk about 'foreign banks', but we are all here in the euro-zone / EU (like it or not !!! and of course, apart from our own GBP currency LOL). Personally, I would honestly not worry on that score. I am already an ING saver, and I'm relaxed about the whole thing. .... Probably doesn't help you much, just my opinion...The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)0
