The trouble is unless people at the linked banks are staying on to process the payments, 5pm is the deadline at most banks.
HSBC told me today their department for transfers is open until 10pm tonight - hope this helps

For the larger banks the receiving process is completely automated....
  • Still waiting on BACS payment into A&L withdrawn on 3rd Oct

    Gutted. Nothing for me _pale_

CHAPS transfer 8pm Tuesday 7th October to Halifax. £34.5k

I withdrew the lot apart from £20 CHAPS fee, meaning my account was zero'd... I wonder if this has added a complication??

I don't begrudge anyone their cash and am pleased for you all, but as less and less people are waiting, it turns up the anxiety. Its a bit like waiting for your suitcase after a flight, as more and more people get theirs and walk off... but a lot worse.:(

I have been relatively calm up until close of play today, but it really is brown pants time now  :( _pale_

I should add - I have NOT had any email from KE/ING to say I am in the 5%

Please take heart from the fact that money is finally flowing. Unless your circumstances are oddball...like closing fixed rate acnts, telephone transaction etc etc, chances are good that it will be in your account tomorrow. Personally I think its your bank er ex building society halifax. It I think still works like a building society, taking extra time to clear things. Thats what I think..........try and think positive.

Good. No run on ING necessary then?
  • Do you know, why not Nationwide

  • I have had e-mail from Ing on 15 10 08 saying that my money is safe. I had a Kaupthing Edge £34,900 1 year bond. I am unable to sign onto the Kaupthing Edge site, even though Ing says that I should be able to. I am concerned that our UK gov guarentee no longer applies to money in ING. They seem to have handed over my money to what may prove an unreliable Dutch Bank. I feel let down by our government. What do you all think? Is there any possibility if the web site ever comes on line again it would be possible/advisable to try and transfer the money back to my account?

Are any other ‘successful transfer’ posters checking their accounts to make sure the money’s still there, or is it only me that’s completely barking?

The website is not offline, I've just logged in to my accounts with no problem whatsoever.
