Hang on in there...my 'deep throat' contact at the FSA confirmed the massive number of CHAPS transfers had caused an operational challenge. It was NOT an asset issue. The money was ring fenced for KE customers. Let's not create a liquidity scare about ING....some of us have money there too....
I don't think it's a liquidity scare to question what ING, a foreign bank are up to. If you are happy to invest in a foreign bank that's up to you but I've had enough of risk and in future I'll stick with the big UK licenced organisations.0 -
Sorry, CHAPS 7th October not 8th - overwhelmed with relief and can't get my dates right.0

Hi everyone,
My money has just arrived in Alliance+Leicester account - hurrah!
Hope everyone gets theirs today, and can finally rest easy.
This forum has been a huge support in the last week and a half - I would have gone insane without knowing that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.0 -
Gutted. Nothing for me _pale_
CHAPS transfer 8pm Tuesday 7th October to Halifax. £34.5k
I withdrew the lot apart from £20 CHAPS fee, meaning my account was zero'd... I wonder if this has added a complication??
I don't begrudge anyone their cash and am pleased for you all, but as less and less people are waiting, it turns up the anxiety. Its a bit like waiting for your suitcase after a flight, as more and more people get theirs and walk off... but a lot worse.:(
I have been relatively calm up until close of play today, but it really is brown pants time now :sad:_pale_
I should add - I have NOT had any email from KE/ING to say I am in the 5%0 -

Dont have mine yet CHAPS 8/10 to Nationwide
Nor me. £35k+ to HSBC 8/10. Think it must now be past close of business for HSBC. Will keep looking but think it looks like tomorrow with any luck. Judging from the results of the poll there are still a lot of people still waiting.0 -

Yep, got mine earlier today £XXk just after lunch, actioned on 7-Oct.
Hang on in there, it will come, remember it's govt money not ING money that is funding the repatriation of our balances.
Also just a reminder, Martin said that ING will be making an official post on this forum later today so you should be able to engage if not cash arrives today.
All the best, I am still on this thread and will stay (like many others) until we are all sorted!
best regards,

Can I just say thank you to everyone who has put time and effort into bringing this to a resolution and also to Alistair at ING who despite what people have said here I found to be very helpful, polite and genuinely concerned in what for him must have been a very diffucult situation indeed.
I would dearly love to know what actually happened but I suppose we will never really find out the truth.

ps. have you not heard of ING's bailout today from the Dutch government? this isn't just about the KE transfer fiasco but I wondered if the flow of funds out of ING/KE have shocked them into requesting the help.........just a thought.
either way, after months of ING spouting on about their massive strength and their not needing any help at all, now they request it! make you own mind up but remember they're not just in your locality if it all goes wonky again....0
