zaphod says:Its all well and good for ING et-al to say I/we should be thankful just to get the capital back but I for one have lost a house sale (5% deposit now lost and unrecoverable) and several household bills unpaid

I guess I got very lucky!!
I transferred almost all the remains of my KE a/c ( £40) out of the account on 9th, it got to the linked account on 17th Oct. (i got the bulk on 10th Oct following a 6th Oct BACS which came in via CHAPS)
I hope everyone's money turns up very soon.0 -

Just a quick note to thank ING. As thread followers will know a couple of days ago I put a note in saying if anyone was in dire straits due to lack of access (ie CCJ time) I would try and push their case.
Most people thankfully said they could cope with the wait, and only one person responded. I spoke to ING and it managed to prioritise the case, speak to the person direct and monitor the payment and hopefully that should all be sorted.
I think this is worth a thank you.
I know there is a lot of ill feeling over the way this has been handled, and some of that is justified. On the other hand this type of emergency takeover with the other office being shut down is unprecedented and in truth every time I've spoken to ING (which has been a lot this week) they have seemed and acted very keen to get peoples money sorted.
Martin
My personal thanks go to Martin. :money:
Although I am sure it has been testing times for ING and KE, it certainly could have been handled better especially from a Customer Service point of view. However as Martin was on the inside and has far more experience than us (and certainly than myself) then I also thank them.
I have just logged in and got my cash!
Thank you to all.0 -

Did anyone actually get their money paid in today, or did they just discover today, it had been paid in from yesterday?0

Hi Silvergirl, and welcome. I am a fixed term account holder, and my fixed term was broken today, but I did attempt this on the 8th October. They place your fixed term account into your regular savings account first and then they will work on transferring it to your linked account. If you have only just asked them to break your fixed term, I am sure it will happen, but just not as quickly as we would like. I know this doesn't give you a solid answer, but just wait until Monday, check your account again, and if nothing has changed, then ring them and ask them to look at your account to see what is marked on it. Stay positive and stay with the forum they will give you all the support you need.0

Sorry to hear that. What were the circumstances again? I'm a bit confused. I've flicked back over your post history but can't find anything about it. Do you mean that a house purchase (rather than a sale) fell through because you couldn't get the money up in time for the agreed completion date? I don't yet see how having money stuck in KE or Icesave would stop anyone from selling their house. Hope you don't mind me asking, thanks.

Thanks bit angered by the situation, I was buying a house and have lost the deposit, I now wish that I had gone to the bank and arranged a bridging loan but I trusted the website updates. The mass amount came in on Monday from ING too late to complete on the purchase0 -
good luck zaphod, ippylady and anyone else who is still waiting. the power of a collective voice through this forum has already been proved and we will not desert you just because our own money has arrived. hope it all comes through by tomorrow0
