It's this bit that bothers me ...

...will be released by Thursday 23 October and we would expect these to start arriving in the destination bank account on Friday 24 October.

What do you mean KE/ING by START arriving?

This point about "start" has been made several times before. When I spoke to ING yesterday (before I got my money) I tackled them on this point and the guy I spoke to (Thomas Ali) was emphatic that this part of the latest update is merely loose drafting and that ING expect all payments will be completed by Friday. I told him that I didn't believe him but he wouldn't budge and he kept saying that this is the information he has been told to give out.
  • Caretaker sorry if that sounded aggressive, it was meant to be irony !!!
my sense of humour has taken a back seat - still no money
    2 accounts:-
    1/ BACS requested 7th -left KE 8th - funds received Fri 17th
    2/ CHAPS requested 7th - left KE 8th - funds received Thurs 30th Oct.

    Thank you ING

Just a quick note to thank ING. As thread followers will know a couple of days ago I put a note in saying if anyone was in dire straits due to lack of access (ie CCJ time) I would try and push their case.

Most people thankfully said they could cope with the wait, and only one person responded. I spoke to ING and it managed to prioritise the case, speak to the person direct and monitor the payment and hopefully that should all be sorted.

I think this is worth a thank you.

I know there is a lot of ill feeling over the way this has been handled, and some of that is justified. On the other hand this type of emergency takeover with the other office being shut down is unprecedented and in truth every time I've spoken to ING (which has been a lot this week) they have seemed and acted very keen to get peoples money sorted.

  • I bet the initial joy of having someone accepting their sales call soon evaporated!!!
into the ether ha ha ha!
Hope you feel better for getting it off your chest

When I tried a few days ago - it seemed to be a day out - if you try it with Oct 24th it may work ok

Yep, tried that and it still said I needed to put in tomorrow's date.

When I phoned KE the woman on the phone said that as it was after 2 (or 2:30 - I forgot which) I should put tomorrow's date. When I told her I had already tried that she said I needed try "tomorrow", not put in tomorrow's date.

    We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Sorry - I've lost track of the days - I meant the day after tomorrow - in banking days that is Monday Oct 27th I think. don't ask me why - but that worked for me.
KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!
  • zaphod hope you do get it back friday, otherwise you may not have a girlfriend !!!

Yep, I urged her to go into KE, house has been quiet for 2 weeks now, been engaged for 21 years. I think that will change if KE/ING don’t 'push the button' on Friday

Might just be a few on here who wouldn't agree!!
Isn't their interest rate 4.something plus a bonus?
What will ex-KE savers be offered?(apart from paracetemol)

Im sure there would be people that would certainly disagree with me, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

From what I can see in my account, my rate is still more than 6.5%, so thats still more than reasonable
