the Fury - im still in the same boat as you - chaps 8th oct - got my £20 chaps fee refunded into my account on the 20th - the 25k transferred still not appeared in my Yorkshire Bank Acc. Cant bear to log onto internet banking anymore :(
  • Still rooting for non-receivers.
I was surprised to receive my money yesterday as we had been told that moneys would be released on Thursday and that we could 'expect' transfers to be arriving into our accounts on Friday (tomorrow). It does make me wonder if ING have decided to meet these obligations from their own resources, to be repaid from a tranche of funds expected from the Administrators at the end of the week. If this is so then that's good but you have to ask why they couldn't have done this at the outset. It would have saved a lot of stress.
At the end of all this it would be very interesting to learn what exactly has happened behind the scenes and just who were the chief decision makers. Anybody any contacts in the various organisations concerned?
  • Just for all us worriers out there - nothing this morning for me yet
    CHAPS out on the 8th

Surely it can't be long now!

Hope you're right, mine went out on the 8th too and still nothing. No money, no email  I need the money to pay for my holiday.

It's getting really painful now isin't it??!

Don't get me wrong I'm happy for the individuals who are being re-united with their money. But every time I'm feeling more left out!

If somebody at ING/KE would just check my transaction number to say it is being dealt with I'd be a lot happier.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this though, thanks :o
No more offshore banking for me
  • I think I'm getting obsessed...can't stop checking and I'm supposed to be writing a report. Fat chance! CHAPS 7th for £20K. NADA. Once again, thank you guys...
    CHAPS 7/10 £20K landed in Barclays 7/11:j

I'm in the same position. Still waiting, nervously at that. I am hnoestly pleased many are getting their dough though (hmm that ryhmes) but I could have done with mine early last week.

Desperate for some cash or even information on my CHAPS and when I am likely to receive it, because surprise surprise I didn't get an email or call from ING either.

I just feel drained this week because of this... :(

My work rate has suffered badly in last few weeks, if i didn't work for myself I'd have probably been sacked! Would I have got compensation for that??

Great to hear money's still arriving...have stopped the wife viewing posts as she gets too upset!!!!!!
It seems impossible to me that during all that's happened, and is continuing to happen, somebody somewhere,be it KE,ING,FSCS,Treasury........ whoever , has NOT managed to contravene banking codes of practice. If they haven't,what's to stop other banks behaving the same way....eg refusing to honour CHAPS requests etc as officially instructed?
    It cannot be right.

The first place I looked for help was the Banking Code. It doesn't even mention "CHAPS". For BACS it merely refers to the normal amount of time such payments take. There's no penalties for late payments. So forget about that.

Another completely useless avenue is the "Financial Ombudsman". If you don't believe me, try it. They are the biggest joke under the sun. All they may do is pass brief details of your complaint to the bank via some form, and tell you that if you are still unsatisfied after 8 weeks (yes 8 weeks) you can get back to them to see if they can do any more. When you tell them that this action is totally useless and that they may as well not exist, they read out a prepared script telling you they're not policemen of the banking industry, etc.
  • 2 Chaps transfers for £35k each on the 9th both finally arrived yesterday.

I was charged £20 on each for CHAPS and no interest. What a b***** cheek. Guess that's the next battle.

Anyway thank you to Martin and all for the combined support. For those of you still waiting I hope it's not too long. I will keep checking until all are reunited with their money. ING will NEVER get any more business from me.
