I don't believe it! After telling ING EXACTLY what my situation is, ie CLOSURE, not withdrawal, I've just phoned KE and have been told that NONE of the closures are going to be processed until all of the withdrawals have been finalised. So this Thursday, Friday deadline is yet another unattainable dead line for those of us who have requested closures, not withdrawals. Of course, there was no knowledge of when the closures will be looked at, blaming the bl**dy administrators!

Did you write to close your account and if so who to?
  • Hi guys
my sincere best wishes to fellow reclamation squad for today. Do remember there seems to be a period of nothing between activity from the administrators and to keep checking your account. I checked mine just before 5 yesterday evening and nothing, took my daughter to see HSM3 and it arrived sometime during the cinema trip.

We will unite for the fight to reclaim double chaps fees and interest etc once everyone has their original funds back. I am confident of 100% success here, we are absolutely great.

Good luck to you all for today
If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids ;)
  • Money finally here in the UK again. Came in late on Wednesday 22nd so could see it this morning Thursday 23rd. Thanks for this thread. It's been very helpful. (The chaps fee didn't come through, but will check up on this later).:T
  • Good luck everyone for today - its been a horribly stressful time for everyone and I have everything crossed for all those who are still waiting for their money - we all deserve a peaceful weekend.

nomorekids is right - once we know everyone has their money and we have had some time to collect our thoughts we can battle on then to reclaim.

I join in the good luck wishes for everyone today.
And I am going to join the fight for lost interest (if they don't credit it on time) and for any CHAPS fees - not just double. We all paid £20 to have the money on the same day, not days or weeks later!

I am all for that once the last saver gets their money back.

BACS 13th Oct to HSBC - now received.

I'm obviously greatly relieved but my thoughts are very much with those still waiting. I sincerely hope it all gets sorted out today or Friday for them. I do honestly think that there is a good chance. I know only too well how awful they feel especially if the money is actually needed for urgent bills, as was the case with me.

Regards the above post, I couldn't agree more. I'm pretty sure that a significant problem at the practical level has been Ernst & Young, Administrators. But they're all to blame. I found the FSA to be completely useless. The Treasury, in allowing ING to take all these accounts without ensuring adequate mechanisms for prompt payments, are guilty as hell. ING's helpline staff no doubt did the best they could but it was no way anywhere nearly good enough. The K-E helpline staff, however, I found pretty good and I'd like to thank them because I could see that the situation was beyond their control. While I don't doubt that K-E helpline staff did their best, at least for me, I'm nevertheless sure it made absolutely no difference to the actual timetable for repayments.

There are people here talking about reinvesting in ING. I'm not going anywhere near the damned place ever again. I think their administration is a thorough disgrace. I was already a customer of ING but I'm getting out. I still intend to pursue my formal complaint against them for incompetence, and I will do my best to notify as many people as I can of their failures over this matter.

You are absolutely right in what you say. I finaly got back money owed on Monday evening. People I work with have been aware of the fiasco of KE and ING, some of them had ING accounts; not any more they have all closed their accounts with ING.

Great to hear money's still arriving...have stopped the wife viewing posts as she gets too upset!!!!!!
It seems impossible to me that during all that's happened, and is continuing to happen, somebody somewhere,be it KE,ING,FSCS,Treasury........ whoever , has NOT managed to contravene banking codes of practice. If they haven't,what's to stop other banks behaving the same way....eg refusing to honour CHAPS requests etc as officially instructed?
    It cannot be right.

Just to let you guys know that I got my BACS transfer from the 10th yesterday. Needless to say I would never deal with ING Direct again. It's not the delay that has annoyed me, it's the poor communication and lies.

I'm still gonna be here to try and offer moral support to those without their cash - here's hoping that you all get it by Friday.
