  • It's good to keep busy, I find I get depressed if I don't have enough to do , or depressed if I have too much to do !!

I can't get to regular dog classes due to working shifts, it's a pain but needs must! At least I'm here mostly for the dogs , if not someone is, or I pay someone to walk them (very rare these days)

  • Maybe i'm about to enter a manic relapse? lmao when I do I suddenly plan thousands of things!

sounds more like a bit of new years enthusiasm to me - I always set out with good intentions to do a million and one things but never quite get there!

Nah i'm not my Psyc put a successful stop to them unfortunately! Once my PD is controlled I can get on with Voluntary & hopefully proper work I said no way do I want to be out of work next xmas! Still bit by bit, they don't want me to rush it but i'll get there & yeah will have a dog walker too if 4+hrs! Maybe be 5hrs if I work 4 a day then 1hr getting there & back in total. We'll see, she won't be left tho without at least a pee break & walk.

I'm so so lucky with her, she goes all night not wanting out & 4hrs easy, try to nip her out every 3/4hrs while she can't be walked then midnight we go to the end of the road so she can crap! (Garden NOT good enough for those  )
  • What do you want to do when you go back to work Tigerlily? (what sort of job I mean, I dont know what you did before, but you have mentioned working with horses)

I'm thinking Equine Vet Nurse, there's a Vet Hospital fairly close to me (Bus + Train) with a good Equine section, not sure if they need anyone mind you. My last job was for Asda, plus i've worked at a boarding kennels/cattery & livery (Stables) & for a well known stud. Animals is what i'm qualified in & good at, medically anyhow (Long as it's not anal glands!)

I've owned & worked with most animals & know quite abit about most, but horses are my area so preferably with them. If not, cause I know animal jobs are scarce, then maybe back to Asda (If they'll have me) while I find something. I've applied to do Nursing (Human kind!) & am waiting for an interview, but that won't start until September if I got in & was well enough & i'd need to qualify for that.

So Equine Vet Nurse or Mental Health or Paediatric Nurse probably. Or until I retire on Asda's Customer Service Desk
  • Animal care jobs are scarce and often do not pay brilliantly well, but if its what you enjoy it may well be worth persevering!

I always wanted to work with animals as a kid and started off as a zoo-keeper as a school leaver, then graduated to working with teenagers - sometimes it seems very similar!!!

Lilly, only just read backwards - concerning your girl being pined for by another family - I had the same thing with my Diggs but I was assured that he had been in either the Pound - on death row!! for 7 days or in emergency holding kennels for 14 days after that in the area he was found thin and wandering the streets. I was told anyone who had really wanted to find him in those three weeks could have, so that set my mind at ease, though I did check out the Dogslost websites for a few months after we had him.

When you think about it, if you or I lost one of our dogs, we wouldnt have rested, would have rung every vet, every police station, dog warden and dogs home in the area, let alone searched and put up posters - come to that, Im sure like me, your dog is chipped - so Im afraid the likelihood is very much that someone just dumped them because they couldnt be bothered to care for them any more. Enjoy your girl and take comfort that she loves you now.

Yup the rescue chipped her, registered to them & I just update if I move & woulda chipped her if they hadn't as my cat is also. If she went i'd be on to everyone like you say, I even have saved in my favourites the dog wardens for all councils, the dog websites, rescues! The rescue said she mighta been dumped by someone driving thru cause I said if she lived in the village surely they'd know of the rescue, it's 1 mile outside of the village & signposted in the village.

She wasn't chipped or tagged, not even a collar. I just can't get it in my head how anyone could just dump her! To me it's so so hard to believe, especially as other than being abit thin she's in good health (Altho NOT chipped by owners or spayed) friendly, great temperament, house trained & knows some commands! She musta been cared for?

And why not call a damn rescue or at least tie her outside one not let her roam where she could have caused a car accident & been injured or killed or the people in the car, crapped all over the streets putting kids at risk & making a mess, been freezing cold & hungry

I'm actually finding it so hard wondering what happened to her & thinking she might be thinking when am I gonna dump her. At least with the cat I knew she was born in rescue even tho I don't know why her Mum was there. People really are cruel, she's with me till the day she dies assuming she neverr hurts the cat which she'd have done by now, I think she knows the cats not to be touched & she's so good. Even lay on the bed right by the sleeping cat, looked at her, I said no you leave & she just flopped over & grunted.
