hmm I just saw some spots of light blood on the armchair too where she sits, there's like 7 or so spots dotted about the size of maybe abit bigger than a 5p. I dunno if she's starting her season or what, can't see any injuries or cuts on her, but no blood either when I looked just on stuff but she is licking0
-
hmm, that definitely sounds like she is coming into season, especially with the licking and looking a bit swollen!
Pop a towel or something on the chair and keep a cloth handy to catch any drips on the carpet, but you will probably find she will do her best to clean up after herself.0 -
I've stuck an old pillow on the chair & she's sat on it so now i'll know for sure! I mean isn't their pee supposed to smell more etc? I know she goes quite abit but thought it was scent/territory marking? lollll There's no doubt about it spots on my chair though & not from me! lol aww she hasn't moved from her pillow she sits looking at me! I thought there'd be tons of blood so idk?
I'll call the rescue when they open in the morning to let them know, only thing is that'd mean she'd be spayed like mid March? I go away 22nd - 26th! Would end of March be too late? I don't want her having an op then me away right after in case of probs & no doubt i'd be needing to take her back for stitches out?0 -
I cant remember my dogs pee smelling different, but then again, I never checked!
No, my dog only ever spotted and cleaned up after herself quite carefully.
I would think end of march to mid april would be ideal, cos its three months from the end of the season, and thats only rough - a couple of weeks either way seems to be fine.
p.s. as far as boy dogs go, just keep her on lead and be wary - If I remember correctly, she will be most fertile and attractive to entire males just after her bleeding stops for about another week or ten days, but you may want to check if I have got my facts right there, cos its late and I am going from memory!0 -

hmm we were out the other day & someone had a Westie & a Cocker Spaniel & one had a good sniff of her behind lol not sure but i'm pretty certain that was male, no idea if castrated or not! I'm suprised she didn't rip his head off she hates dogs lol
Yeah she stays on a short lead, when we walk we only see one other dog but that's the other side of the road. The woman who had her Saturday didn't say anything about blood so maybe it just started now. Well, it has to be doesn't it! I spose I just can't believe it only 1 week in when it coulda been any time in 6 months!
I know I thought she was peeing more & looked more swollen & the spots can't be anything else, not 7 off em! If I take it as today, 15th, then book her in 3 months after it ends so beginning of April? Would 9th April be too late? I think 3 weeks is 5th jan to finish? lol why did I get a she?!0 -

9th April sounds cool to me, but ask your vet cos I could be wrong!
Ah well, in a way its better to get her season over sooner rather than later because at least then you know what you are dealing with and can plan ahead.
Yup, its the only problem with b1tches, but girls never get it easy:rolleyes:
Dont worry - If you had a boy dog he would probably be humping his bedding and getting his winkie out all the time!!!
night :-)

Yep she is, she just moved from the pillow & there's bright red blood there
I feel so bad for her, this is a weird question but does it hurt her? lol I have Endo rl & so can't help thinking of the pain I used to have! She does always seem miserable right now, ears down & that. I'll call the Vets anyway in the morning that she has to go to to ask & the rescue as they wanted to know if she did.
lol now I will worry some huge brute will get at her! I walk her early & late & the only one I see off lead is the other side of the road. lol thank !!!! u were online! My poor Chaya!0 -

If she is anything like my dog Megan a large German Shepherd she will soon be offering it on a plate to anything with 4 legs including the cat ,I had one very confused castrated springer she kept on demanding that he did his duty and pestered the life out of him .;)0 -

:rotfl: omg my cat'd leave home! I've decided to keep her to our shared garden bit so if anything appears I can rush inside! I have visions of opening the door to a line of males. We live right by a park, like a few ft from the railing fence! I hope none jump it & get hurt, it's quite high, 6ft i'd say, but still
Is today her first day then? I dunno if she started it before now, the bleeding only started today. Just asked the price of the spay, it's just under £140 if she comes in at over 12.5kg I think & they give 20% off, then the rescue will refund £60 unless I say to keep it. She was about 12kg & needs to gain tho, but maybe if she does have Whippet in her her spine will show abit cause they're like that? lollllll
I wonder if I could chance our 11:30pm walk, it's only around two roads, i'd've thought most pets would be in at that time of night. We do walk by some dogs homes tho so maybe it's best not to? lol I hope she doesn't go nuts not getting her walks, tho I have a feeling she'd be happy just sleeping all day!0 -
Kira was in season when we adopted her too (that was the end of our cream carpets! :rotfl:) but she was so kennel stressed at the time they allowed us to adopt her before she'd been spayed. It IS possible to spay them outside of the "3 months after last season" - it's just preferred
Kira seemed more embaressed than uncomfortable to be honest when she had her season. Just be aware that she might be uncomfortable and possibly irritableKira wasn't in the least interested in boys even when in season but she's always been a bit weird! I didn't allow her off leash until she'd finished her season + a couple of weeks - didn't want lots of ickle pups
