oh my god, tigerlilly I cant believe you said that - I love jack russells.
However, I have total faith that you are just expressing an opinion and would not actually kick a jack russell or anything, unless it was actually biting your ankles, as they do!
Anyway, (sorry, I was messing about a bit there, Ive been in poorly all day and have gone stir crazy)... we all like different things in animals, but at the end of the day we would all try and help a dog that was in need, whether a Chi, a JRT or a staffie, or even a drooling neoplitan mastiff.
Mely - please dont take it personally, we may well fall for your dog if we knew it, but not every breed apeals to everyone equally. You might or might not like random little mongrels, but I do!
Cant wait to see the piccies of Chaya!
As for Badger, she is a mystery dog, nobody knows what she really is, I suspect possibly some collie, some corgi and some terrier somewhere in the mix - but I dont know, and I don't even know her age - the people who handed her into rescue said she was 6 or 7, the vet said 3 or 4.
I also dont know why almost all her fur was shaved off when I got her, but it was! I really dont know what happened there, I guess her coat was a mess, probably from chewing at untreated fleas, so they shaved her before they took her in to make it look better?
here she was in rescue -
I like the next photo, because as normal she is hogging the limelight and grinning, whilst my mums dog maintains a dignified disinterest in the background!0 -
[And here are my boys

ooh hethmar, I love your dogs, they look like mischief and like they would be a serious peril to all rabbits in the locality!
I do like a terrier (or two)!0 -
And yours are lovely too
But then every dog is gorgeous.
Well, its strange because, Ralph, the Parson Russell there has only 2.5 feet but he is a terrific leader/sniffer and he will track down ANYTHING, even squirrels up the top of a tree or hedgehogs in a erm, hedge!. Diggs bless him watches Ralph and then runs like the wind in the direction of the sniffing and posing position of Ralph. But Diggs is SO obedient, he actually stopped dead when he was inches from a rat recently when I shouted at him. Brilliant boy, he was left to starve on the streets of Manchester - unbelievable isnt it.0 -
Awww what cute dogs! Well, I did once live with the tiniest Jack Russell Terrier x Papillon once, I have his pics but no scanner! He was such a naughty boy lmao. Very very very cute tho! His name was Cracker but we called him Cranky cause he was a grumbly old man even as a Pup! His Dad was Tin Tin aka Pinhead the JRT & I lived with those when at the stables!
Badger is gorgeous, she definitely looks to have JR & Collie! I'd love to know (I think) their histories, I wish they could talk!0 -
Lol at Cranky! Good name :-)
... we are counting the days till we can see piccies of Chaya, how is she settling in now? Is she getting the hang of not eating the cat?
Glad to hear she had a god day with the dog-sitter, were you worried about her or not? (I always worry a little but when I have to leave my dog with anyone new, but its good once they have been there and you know they are ok to go there again!)0 -
Well, Diggs is already on my bed - Ralph lays on a big cushion on the floor there
So Im off. Nite nite guys.

Only worried that she'd forget to collect her! lol she did a great job with my Rats so I know she's ok! She's acting like she's always been here, the cat having been alone all day is giving the dog 'I thought you'd gone' stares! But she'll come back in past where the dog sleeps & will still sleep with me @ night! She's good tho, I mean the Rats go bonkers at night squeaking & dashing about, i'm wondering if they're in a teenage stage, they keep squeaking tons, and she iognores all of that!0

hmm idk if she's coming into season, I noticed tonight she's licking alot down there & her bits look bigger tho that might be just me (I thought that before I noticed she's licking etc) & it looks like there might be two tiny spots of blood in her bed, but her pee is normal, well she goes TONS when out but I think she always did I can't remember but she's not got any blood there that I can see0
