Yawns and stretches ... I came in to catch up with everyone and say hi ....... then promptly fell asleep. Thanks for the blanket Daisy. I'll have a proper read through and catch up later. I can't believe I missed the mince pies. They must have been tasty as there was only a plate of crumbs left when I looked.
As no-one's unlocked the door to come in yet and I can't find the spare key ...... I can't get out!:rotfl: No worries tho', I'll tidy up, get the kettle on and set the tables for brekkie.
The lurgy kicked in big time on sunday. I can't complain though as it's a long time since I've had one like this. In the force of the sneezing, I bit a lump out of my cheek and thought I'd chipped a tooth! I'm feeling a lot better now so have to play the catch up game - we still haven't got our decs out of the attic let alone put them up!
Hope everyone's well.0 -
Well folks, due to the phenomenal success of the virtual mince pies I have made 3,206 and they are on the virtual counter in the cafe. Please help yourself. Brandy butter is also available. Obviously low cholesterol and low calorie because they are virtual!:j:j
I see the pile has reduced to 3,189 :cool: mince pies
In the real world I have been busy ringing handbells. I have even managed to play carols on some toy handbells, which is a major achievement!
We shall be playing another Advent Concert on Thursday and will be collecting for charity at the local station (Broxbourne) on Friday evening. Ho, Ho, Ho and all that..
Just helped myself to 2 mince pies... only 2,822 left.. better hurry

Thank goodness - there's some mince pies left, I will have one please, I would hate to take two and let someone go without. Not many left now - there's about 400 left I think.
Phew, what a day, I had to go to the eye hospital this morning and had to be there for 10am so I got there for 9.45am (well you have to be there 13 mins before the appointment as you get seen by nursey who checks your vision) and then I sat and waited, and waited and waited - I was eventually seen at midday:mad: Good news, my cataract op has been postponed, my next appointment is in March (see two consultants and have a field vision test) and then the decision will be made. My op is complicated because my pupil has stuck to my lens:eek: but hey ho such is life. Other good news, my eye pressures have gone up to 12 in right (the first time it has seen double figures for 2 years:eek: ) and 8 in the left.
Had to laff though, my chap sent me a text message from his hols in Tignes - he flew there on Saturday and hasn't even set a ski onto the slopes since because they have been snowed in and all pistes are closed - they have had over 1 metre of snow fall since Sunday:eek:
Stopped off in Northfield to pick up recorded delivery item from the post office, went straight across to bank and banked the cheque received:j nipped into home bargains for some tissues, and to woolies (which is closing on 27 Dec) and bought myself some bathroom scales, some gift tags and two DVDs.
Yummm these mincepies are nice:D0 -
Hello folks.
*Grabs small supply of mince pies*
Don't know why, but I've got a filthy headache today. Possibly I did too much scratting about in the kitchen yesterday. Never mind, I shall have a quiet day today, maybe put something soothing on the CD player. What does everyone like?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi LameWolf - a bit of Il Divo wouldn't go amiss or anything really as long as it isnt by Queen.
Oh, I shall just sit here, I am really pooped after the long wait, the hopping on and off buses all day, I am hungry but can't be bothered with lunch - although saying that I think I had better go and eat some real food before I flake out.
See y'all laters

How would Pachelbel's Canon suit? I love that, and it's so peaceful and soothing. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Dutifully being played softly on handbells, whilst we are eating the remains of the mince pies and brandy cream.
In the real world I went to the school and helped six girls play their first concert with the handbells. All went well, through a fit of giggles, but the parents loved it. The audience were so interested that they came up afterwards and had to have a go. They were impressed because the girls handled the bells really well and the adults found it was not quite so simple.;);)
Anyway, Pachabels's canon and any carols that you wish.... played to the volume you enjoy.0 -

Hello all.
Brrrrrr - I've come in to warm my frozen paws by the fire, and perhaps have a steaming mug of hot chocolate. I've just washed one of my favourite tops - which has to be hand-washed in cold water. Why do I always choose clothes like that?
