Hi Sheep - welcome to our abode, sorry to hear that you are poorly sick in hospital but that you are working on your escape plan. The food in here is fab and is non-fattening (I wish all food was like that:rotfl: ) and you never get drunk either which is even better.

I think I will have some sanguinello orange juice (I got some today because my body told me it needed it) and maybe a slice of christmas cake - oh I know its early but what the hell:D

Ooh, am I first in here today? I guess you must all be off in the RW doing your last preparations (I hope that's all it is, and not a major outbreak of lurgy).

I thought, as so many of us will be eating lots of rich food over the next few days, that we could have something simple like bangers (veggie and meat - decent ones from the butchers), mash and baked beans. Peas also available for those who prefer them to beans.

I'll just pop outside now and get in a small supply of logs for the fire.

Bangers and mash my favourite. I will have some please if there is any left?

I am a hologram and am not supposed to be here - my washing didnt dry yesterday and I cannot go away with wet washing so it is now indoors hanging up and the heater is on in the hope that it will dry out:rolleyes: Went for a walk this morning (couldn't be bothered to wait for the bus into the village), nipped to the post office to pick up a parcel and then headed into Woolies (I shall miss that place), I was in there last week and the shelves were full but today it was really eery with most of the shelves empty. I managed to pick up some birthday cards, books, a large toblerone and some pick n mix (not that there was much choice). Still I now have birthday cards for next year, the books I shall read, the toblerone will be given away as a present and the pick n mix bag will be given to OH to go into his new desktop sweetie thing (a lakeland purchase).

Oh, I also brought back some childhood memories by watching 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - I can remember going to the matinee on a Saturday morning to see it:cool:

Thanks LameWolf - Dr Dragon and I have just fought our way around Sainsburys (insane it was! people still doing siege shopping!), Quorn bangers and mash with onion gravy will suit me down to the ground.

Ooh is that a bottle of Dark Rum I see there? and more mince pies?

I'm so thrilled with the new avatar... suits me to a T. We are actually having sausage and mash for tea, with lempsip and cough syrup. I think I prefer the virtual grub here. Couldn't face shopping, so I have been dozing by the fire.

Had a busy week. Went shopping in Glasgow yesterday...lovely...and then this morning I repaired my car. As part of my money-saving my partner and I do as many of our own car repairs as possible. Today I learned how to get off a handbrake that was stuck on after driving my Smart car through flood waters. I'm so proud of myself. LOL :D Many repairs are simpler than I thought they would be and I have an honest garage at the end of the road to advise me.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to you all! (Sorry MSE won't let me do Hebrew characters.)

Just popping in to wish everyone a very merry christmas :santa2: :xmassign:

Allydowd - Wow, I'm really impressed with your bravery at tackling car repairs, however large or small the job is. Doing anything beyond tyre pressures, changing bulbs and topping up fluid levels scares me silly :o .

I also echo Magentas wish for better health for all next year.

M.E. - hope you and yours are starting to get better now.

Hi Sheep  and hope you've escaped and been allowed home. It's really friendly in here so do come in again.

LW, Rosieben, Lazydaisy, Dragon, Horace, Alto and everyone else (I hope I haven't missed anyone off here and profusely apologise if I have) - Here's hoping santa brings you everything you wish for, including a well earnt rest for all your hard work in here. It really is much appreciated :A
