Prawn curry?
Here y'go, M.E, big plate of prawn curry for you. Would you like naan bread with that?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Well I have had a lazy afternoon - I watched an old western on channel 5US which I have seen no end of times before:rolleyes: I have done another load of washing and partly done the washing up (only have a small draining board so one lot is drying and then I will do the other lot).
I have put my various meds in the fridge and the bathroom - I now have some benylin 4 flu and some ibruprofen tablets just in case the flu comes avisiting again.
I think I have have a hot choc with brandy and will sit here by the fire and try and warm up a bit (I have been too mean to put the heater on today).
((bluedog)) sorry your woofsnap had to go to a new home - my chum had to have her old chap put down before christmas, he had had a hard working life (a police dog) and he had started to go down hill, she took him to the vet and she discovered a growth on his spleen so he was put to sleep. My mate was really upset but I did say that has he had been out for a run in the morning he fell asleep dreaming about chasing rabbits - which is a good way to go. What sort of dog was your woofsnap? Is he a gundog or a sheepdog?
I have thought of sponsoring a dog - I would love to have one but I live in a flat and it wouldnt be fair although saying that the people that live below me have a dog which is awfully quiet except when someone with bad intentions tries to get in and then she goes barmy. No, I won't have a dog although I do love them they are much more use than cats.:D0 -
Huge hugs Bluedog, my heart goes out to you - and for what it's worth, I really admire and respect you for making what must have been a gut-wrenchingly hard decision. Yes, it was the right one for him, but so painfull for you.
I have always owned dogs and cats and found the strength to have them put to sleep when they became ill because it was the best I could do for them but I'm not at all sure that I could be so selfless and do what you have done. My old Rhona is now 13 and a half and I know she is living on borrowed time. Luckily, when I became unable to take her for long walks, she wasn't bothered so I never had to face that one.
Illness/disability is so cruel when it robs us, and the ones we love, in ways like this.
Please post a pic of him and let us know how he is doing. Is he a Welsh sheepdog by any chance? and if so, did you have to teach him english?Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
Sorry to hear all the less happy things going on at the moment, but never mind we have a New Yaer to look forward to.
Leave all the crockery in the sink, I'll pop in later and do a good tidy up for you all.

Healthy New Year to all.
Still coughing and spluttering but cheerful.
DD1 and OH have gone across town to pick up her new car. She's thrilled. Her old car (used to be mine) was called Arthur... because it looked like 'arf-a' car.. a fiat cinquecento;);)
This one is a Focus so ideas for a name for the car?
Meanwhile I have beef stew in Christmas Brandy in the slow cooker and a pile of washing to do... so I'm busy surfing MSE... a suitable displacement activity:D
The Christmas elves have magically tidied up the cafe, set the world to rights and have an extra second this year in which to do it.
Life will be better:rolleyes:0 -
Just popping in to wish you all the very best for the coming year.:p
Mr LW is finishing work at 15:00 today, so I can't stay too long - but I've put a few bottles of champagne in the fridge, feel free to partake.;):beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Happy New Year to one and all.
In case you didn't know it already I am jammier than a jam pot:rotfl: On the way back to our car on Sunday when we went for a mooch at Merry Hell, his beady eyes spotted an M&S gift card lying in the gutter so he picked it up and gave it to me. Well I nipped into Birmingham this morning (I was there for 9.10am) and went for a mooch in M&S with various gift cards and vouchers burning a hole in my purse - well I wanted a suit and I found one and a few other things. Well I know that I had a gift card containing £50 (my christmas pressie from my parents), a gift card containing £1.38, a £5 voucher thanks to MSE and Direct Line. I dared to hand over this battered card thinking that if it was blank then nothing was lost - to my surprise they told me that it had £15 on it:j I ended up only having to pay £71 for my shopping as the rest was bought using the 'free' money:j
Its kinda scary buying stuff - I haven't bought any decent clothes for over 12 months. I even picked up a pair of trainers in a closing down sale and some bits in Primark that will be taken to Spain next week:D
I am off now to eat the remainder of my quiche.:D0 -
