Afternoon all :hello:

Afternoon all, sorry I haven't been around much but I have been a tad busy, sorting out my OH who is a complete nincompoop, providing an ear for my old school chum, cleaning the cupboard in my kitchen after the sink leaked, writing christmas cards (only a few left) oh and today I went to a business lunch and ended up being the only guest:rolleyes:
Well the business lunch was a bit of a kai bosh really as the guy who had invited me along with a load of other people was given the heave ho 3 weeks' ago because he was incompetent. I was the only person who turned up so there was a huge buffet and lil ol' me to eat it (I ate some of it but as the food was rather strange only ate things that I could identify). Well despite the incompetencies of this chap, working with this tiny conference centre could prove to be very beneficial to me especially as they only have an event co-ordinator who has been thrown in at the deep end and knows absolutely zilch about weddings which is where I come in - I could well be acting as their consultant because I have the knowledge and the expertise:D
Now I feel like roosting on the sofa for a while drinking a virtual hot chocolate and eating a slice of cake.
Christmas is nearly sorted, I have 3 cards left to write, I have a present to wrap and to post to my chum in Cambridge (a lovely leather handbag that cost me £1 in the charity shop and its brand new). I am not saying that I am a cheapskate but money has been incredibly tight this year. I have other presents to wrap too and they will be placed under my tree until 23 December when I go off on my travels.0 -
Sorry Lame Wolf - the smug arrogent and obese tabby in your basket was probably my DD's. Hope you had a good snooze and that you are feeling up to all the real world cooking you have planned for tomorrow. By the way, I had no idea who that actor is that they mention on the Daily either - so thank you for asking!
It has been very quiet in here all day, hope everyone is well and feeling festive. I've restored all the baubles to their rightful place and had stern words with the moggies.Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
Life in the real world is cluttered, the contents of the study, bathrooms and bedroom are in the front room whilst the windows are being finished. OH put in double glazing last year oops 2 years ago, but has only now got round to plastering the window surrounds. Fortunately I don't mind mess or at least don't get uptight about it. I long ago realized it was a waste of precious energy to moan.
Managed to come in here though lurking in the calm uncluttered warmth. It is amazing what the power of virtual welcomes and virtual huggles does to keep a sense of perspective.
A smile and dose of inner happiness is worth far more than a bargain at Woolies!
Mince pie anyone?

Ooohhhh! I'd love a mince pie ME - with oodles of cream please. In the RW I am striving to get below 12 stone for Christmas, so mince pies are off the menu for the moment, so I'll enjoy tucking into a virtual calorie-free one, ta!
My kitchen looks like world war three ... wrapping paper and ribbons every where, so I decided to drop into the cafe for some peace and tranquility. I think I'll just curl up with the cats and do nothing for a while.

Hi folks.
I've come in for a break from my RW cooking. Which nearly didn't get done cos I lost my wooden spoon.
Finally found it.... I'd gone to the fridge for some ingredients with the w/spoon in my hand, put it down on the fridge shelf to use both hands to lift a dish out, and shut the fridge door. Brainfog, anyone?:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
