I woke up to day with lots of bruises! I often do that, and scratchbes on my face, must be those demons i am fighting when I go to sleep!
I can see a nice cream bun under the dome on the counter.
    Puts money down.

:hello: Magenta - I've come to join you on the night shift as I can't sleep! Hope your feet have warmed up now as the fires are going well.

I've ended up lurking over the last few of days as things are still a bit too manic and I keep getting interrupted before having a chance to post anything! I'm somewhat stressed by all the demands and expectations that others are imposing on me at the moment. I think it may have something to do with the changes I'm attempting to bring in (with help from the OT at hospital.) to be able to manage my symptoms better - which means putting my needs first. She said she's noticed that my body's reaction to even the slightest stress is extreme and it is clearly my No 1 trigger to fall off the wagon/plans we're making. If those around me would only take the time to look at the folder and diagrams, they would see what I am trying to achieve instead of adding pressure and stress. DS was priceless example this week when he tried announcing that he wouldn't be able to let the dog out because he had a cough/sore throat and needed to look after himself ... ...... and expected me to nurse maid him completely! He doesn't get ill much and I do admit he was rough ...... but I don't think I'd make a good nurse either Lucy as I was whacked out and in a lot of pain when he came out with that one, so I did snap at him ...... and had the first sleepless night this week! (daft really I know, but this is what we're trying to teach my body ... !!)

Anyway, I've now got the lurgy and feel pretty grotty. I'm gutted as I can't believe the timing and fingers crossed the temperature stage will end asap. My friend's fancy dress party is on saturday night and I've really looked forward to it for months now and getting dressed up as a pirate. I really don't want to have to miss it, but she's also disabled and I don't want to pass this one on to her.

More happily, the OT who's dealing with the house adaptions rang me to say she's managed to persuade my housing asses to sort out my front door and the steps I need as it comes under health and safety issues - and should be done by mid-January - YAAYY!! It will be such a novelty being able to get indoors without having to kick the door open! (think I've also figured out why my back has been so bad lately too ...;) ... all the jarring from yanking it open too). The kitchen adaptions will take longer and there could be a few twists in the plot so will just see what happens ... she assures me it will get done though.

It's a bit too early to put breakfast goodies ready, but I'll tidy up, empty the dishwashers feed the cats, birds and stoke the fires ready for the day shift.

Will try to pop back in later, but if not, have a good weekend everyone.

    Hi everyone.

Bluedog, it's nice to see you; I was wondering where you'd got to. Sorry you've caught the lurgy - there's some nasty germs doing the rounds at the moment.

I'll have my customary mug of coffee please, and I think a nice cheese toastie would go down well today.

Hope everyone is keeping warm and well.

    Hi everyone.

Bluedog - I am sorry to hear that you have the lurgy, there's a lot of it about at the mo.

I have been trying to put my christmas tree up today but it only has a few baubles hanging on it because I cannot find the two packets of bauble hooks that I bought the other day:rolleyes: I just want to put my glass baubles on the tree this year as opposed to the plastic ones I used last year (I feel like donating them to Troop Aid). I have been having a sort out and any spare bottles of shower gel, shampoo, cleansers, face cream, wet wipes and body puff scrub thingies as well as deodorant and shave gel (well, OH hasn't bothered using them:rolleyes: ) so I am going to donate them to Troop Aid so that they can go out in grab bags to our troops in hostile parts of the world and some will be made up into bags for the troops that are airlifted to the Centre for Defence Medicine as they often arrive with nothing but a blanket and maybe their undies.

This weekend, I have to go out and deliver a load of leaflets that have been hanging around for ages (they need to be done by christmas) and I shall write my christmas cards and post them. I am off out for a business lunch on Monday, Tuesday I am out for lunch with some friends, Wednesday I am at the eye hospital, Thursday...well...that is going to be a massive treat for me a half day session inc. lunch at a day spa:cool: I shall use the spa, steam room and sauna (my glasses will just have to steam up:rotfl: ), I might also be daring and use the outside plunge pool:eek: I shall have a wonderful facial, a back neck and shoulder massage and various bits need waxing:eek: Now this is going to cost a bit but I really don't care and I will get 10% off because I have a voucher. They have just sent me a text message offering me 30% off on Sunday:mad: Still, I am looking forward to my pampering session on Thursday - I want to feel special and not like the tired, old worn out sock that I feel like at the mo:rolleyes:

Ally, where on earth did you find that? Poor dog - still, she didn't look as if she minded too much.

Gemmzie, yes please..... carrot cake's one of my favourites!

Thought I'd pop in and say hello, I haven't been up to much lately so while I have read a lot of posts I've been keeping to myself so to speak.

I hope everyone is (almost) ready for Xmas, and you all enjoy the holidays, If (like me) you don't really enjoy Xmas, just remember there is always someone worse off than you and things get better!
