I've had this awful bug that's going around - been in bed since last Friday... only got up on Wednesday and had a bath so my carer could change the sheets. Still very weak but did manage to have a bath again yesterday, so I shouldn't smell too bad now
Welcome to our happy band of crocks, Morag.
I'll just help myself to a nice hot baileys, and curl up by the fire...

Oh Daisy, I hope it isn't my lurgy you've caught.
Here's your mulled cider Dragon.
I've also put a selection of drinks on the wheeled trolley to bring across here, so we'll be able to reach what we want easily. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Morning all!! Brrrr it's cold out there, I'll just get everything ready for the day then I'm off. The delights of an hour and a half bus and tram journey to see OH in hospital, he had his knee replacement on Thursday and is doing well so far. He's been up and taken a few steps so all's good. He's in a private hospital as a NHS patient and my goodness what a difference, own en-suite room, food to die for(perhaps not a good choice of description but you know what I mean:) ) Someone checking on him every 10 mins or so,room cleaned (properly) every day, and he was asked if it was cleaned to his satisfaction! Like he cares at the moment.
Consultant saw him yesterday.phisyo twice, the anesthetist called in on Thursday on his way home to check he was ok. I'm not knocking the NHS hospitals, it just seems like a different world!
How the other half live eh?
See you later, if I manage to get through the fog and don't get hypothermia on my way up there!!!Sealed Pot Challenge member 28

Good afternoon ... can I join you all in lurgy corner please??? I'm not ill as such but boy, the sciatica is a bit much today. It's going all the way into my foot which is ice cold and feels numbish too - hasn't been this bad in ages. Much as I enjoyed our shopping excursion, I think that was the trigger for it as I didn't realise how long we were out so over did it
. My hip, knee and back are all whining away too and the pills aren't touching it. I'm supposed to be going to London tomorrow (staying with family) to see a band called Thunder, but may have to call it off (I would if I had any common sense as it's going to be a tough haul anyway). DS won't mind tho' as he'll take my place ...
Horace - have a really happy birthday. :bdaycake:
Think I'll have a large brandy with a slug of coffee ... may numb this lot.
Hope everyone is feeling better today - been a poorly week for so many here hasn't it?0 -
Shall come for a brandy and coffee too Bluedog-I too have awful sciatica at the moment and no amount of pills is numbing it so shall give brandy a whirl.got to go out later to a little party for people with learning disabilities so need some strength for that!
