Kanes_son and Bluedog: Any chance you could post links to some pics? The chinchillas sound gorgeous!

Oh they are! I forgot to add that both Daisy and Twist are black velvets and are utterly beautiful.

I shall post some pics when I can get them to sit still for long enough

Aaaaahhhhh!!! A lovely cuppa, just what I need, thanks Alto.

Bluedog and Kanes-son, can't wait to see the pics of your furbabies.

I'll leave the key under the flowerpot in case the night shift turn up.

    Nite nite folks xxx

Woke early and then went back to sleep and rather groggy today. Still doing boring paperwork but have used the egg timer for 20 minute bursts of activity.
Just had a coffee using "Lazy Sunday Blend", which was very pleasant indeed.
Calorific lunch please.... Real lunch will be leftover chicken, lentils and rice so I'll have a virtual prawn cocktail first, followed by a virtual tiramisu afterwards, followed by a sfogato. That is icecream in a glass covered by hot espresso coffee. As my fridge/freezer is broken I have no icecream and anyway don't often have it.
Otherwise a quiet day in early-retirement-land so a stay in the cafe is just nice.

    :hello: Hello people.

I see the local squirrels have found the bird table. Not to worry, I've brought a squirrel-proof seed holder to hang from the edge of the table, so the birds won't lose out.

    Afternoon all,

It's quiet in here today! Just popped in for a large coffee as I could with a caffeine hit and a quiet breather.

I've had a letter from my housing association following the OT's visit last week informing me that the adaptions needed are over and above their budget for disabled adaptions ........ so they're now suggesting I apply to the council for a Disabled facilities Grant ...... and listed the wrong Council for my area in the process. They are hopeless - took a few wrangled calls for repairs shortly after moving in (8 years ago) to persuade them they DO own this house in the first place so they've had plenty of time to work it out!!!!!! Still, they are getting the damp issues looked into ...... will be interesting to see if they still think it is caused by drying washing in the house!!!! (I have visions of all the condensation in the house making a bee-line for that cupboard ... )

I'll post some pics in the next few days as I'm still re-installing stuff after the trashing I gave my pc the other day.

Kanes_son ; nice to meet you! All 4 of my chins are rescues. I've got 18 month old twin girls called Inca and Bonnie whom I think are standard greys (look a bit violet/velvety closer to their bellies so not sure. Bonnie is a tv addict so got to make sure she can still see it when I finally get their new cage  .) Daisy is a beige whom I'm guessing is at least 7-8 years old. She is almost blind but happy as ever so long as I don't move things around her cage and let her know I'm there. Finally, comes Chester, my neutered male black velvet (I think - the colours and mutations confuse me :o ). My plan is to get Chester and the twins bonded as a group so my new cage is a John Hopewell double cage that has a pop hole so that if all goes well, they will have one massive cage to share together. He's making a few adjustments to it though so that it's sealed off for now and they will all still have loads more room anyway than their present cages permit.

Afternoon peeps - just a hot mug of tea with milk and sugar for me today, I am pooped:rolleyes: I missed out on lunch today so will have to go without until dinner time too. Ho hum.

I had an unexpected trip out to Redditch today as my mate wanted to go shopping and didnt want to go by herself, I felt like the queen as she picked me up in her jag:D We went into Primark and I came out after spending £27 quid but I am now wearing some lovely suede and fleecy slippers that cost me £3 so at long last my little tootsies are warm:D Oh and she dropped me off to go and do my mystery shop.

I spent part of the morning on the phone to a fellow wedding planner who was giving me lots of tips. I am now going to see what I can blag for my free stand at the wedding show I am doing next Feb (I thought that I would contact swizzles matlow to see if they will give me a box of loveheart wedding favours:cool: ).

I am feeling rather hungry - is there anything that I can eat? I fancy a jacket spud with bacon and cheese (in fact I think I fancy that for real - be back in a tick as I need to put on the remoska):D
