    Phew! *flops down in armchair*

Just taking a 10 minute time out; I'll go back in the kitchen when I've had a break and a swift coffee. Apple pie is well under way, as is cheese, Quorn and tomato quiche.

Ooooh Wolfie, you have been working hard, you just rest there a while and I'll bring you a nice cup of coffee....

... would you like cream and a splash of brandy with that?

Afternoon peeps - the virtual cakes and drinks are on me today:j I have had a very useful afternoon:j

Firstly, I had a call from a local conference centre director whom I met at a trade fair in September, he invited me to a free special lunch on 15 December (must remember to wear a skirt). After chatting for a while, he announced that they will be holding their first ever wedding show on 15 February 2009 and did I want a free stand - do I ever as I am skintaroonies at the mo:D It is quite a scary prospect for me as I now have to think of something to hand out to prospective clients - I only have business cards but will need something a bit flashier (yet more bloomin' expense) so I guess I will have to get on the phone to my potential suppliers to see what I can scrounge:D

Is there any of that goose-gog crumble left? I adore goose-gogs even unripe ones:eek:

    Evening everyone,

I've finally sorted out my car insurance and if luck goes my way (...tracks through the cash back site and the promotion code works) then I'll have a nice amount back. It's so hard to figure it all out with brain fog, but even if luck isn't on my side, I've saved myself £67 so I'm really pleased anyway. Just got to remember to cancel my current direct debit ..... :o .

DS was invited to dinner at his GF's tonight and typically, I'd got a chicken out of the freezer yesterday so had to cook it anyway. I've also mopped my kitchen floor which was disgustingly covered in muddy paw prints ..... must have been bad as DS noticed I'd done it, lol  .

I'm exhausted now so will have a quiet drink by the fire and then tootle out and head to bed for real. I've not done much sleeping lately so fancy a night cap as it seems to be the best way to stop my brain from rattling on so much sometimes.

Sharon59 - <<<<< hugs >>>>> I've topped the fire up so it'll stay warm whilst you rest and hope that will help.

Well I'm late in again tonight; I just popped in to mop up mopping.gif and leave it all nice and tidy for tomorrow. HM salmon fish cakes and a couple of chicken and leek pies in the freezer, soup in the fridge (your favourite kind of course!), chocolate cake and lemon cheesecake in the fridge ;) I'm fancying a cream tea so I'll be in tomorrow with the scones and clotted cream, and a big pot of strawberry jam.

I'm having giddy spells at the moment, a real nuisance as I cant go far on my own; my doc thinks its vertigo which can be sorted with tablets thank goodness, the sickness lays me low for 5 or 6 hours. I suppose its probably something to do with my ears, people keep mentioning Menieres but we'll see.

I'm working out how many more supermarket shop I have to do before christmas I hate shopping in that last week so I'm hoping it will be local just for greengrocery and milk, and (if I can get myself organised enough) I'll have the rest of it in the cupboards and freezer

Sharon, hope you're feeling better soon (( hugs ))
Sleep well, sleep safe everyone, Night night bed_2.gif

    Hi everyone.

It's a dull day in Concrete Cow Country, so I've come here for a bit of sunshine and good company.

Except it looks like I'm first here today.

Oh well, I'll get things set up, coffee pot on and such like, for when anyone else arrives. Thanks Rosieben for leaving it all so clean and tidy last night.

I'll be in my basket in the corner if I'm wanted.:p

Popped in earlier... lurking not shirking. Drank coffee (virtual money on counter) then dashed out again when the real phone rang.
Brother in New Zealand phoned for a chat. He only phones when he is sloshed so he doesn't remember what he has said.
It is sunny here, which I find brightens my day. I have a SAD light for dull days and that does help.
I'm enjoying the retirement (four days so far) and although I have some paperwork to finish off I am putting it on a back burner if other things come up.
Started sorting out the bookcase. Stopped for lunch and "virtual huggles" in the cafe.
We all need a look through the cafe window even if we don't announce ourselves... it is comforting to know that other "old crocks" are there.

    Hi all,

Oh boy, I'm so excited tonight as after trashing my pc yesterday (!!!!! ... long story!), I've got it going again and sorted out my long standing sound issues as a result  ......... so my 5.1 speakers and woofer are now working beautifully again. Will turn it on tomorrow and you'll all hear it wherever the cafe is :rotfl: .

Also, I've just had an email about my chinchilla cages and I'll get them in about 11 days. I can't wait as they will help me enormously and be so much better for my furballs, plus I'll get my table back by the window so can watch the birds for real as I do other things.

Tuesday will be dedicated to sorting out my car insurance which is now desperately urgent, but I'll try to pop in as the paninis sound delicious.

The cleaning fairies have been in alto, as it all looks nice and tidy. After a large full monty hot chocolate with obligatory brandy, I'd better get back to real world and tidy up for real before going to bed. Have a good day.

You have chins? How many? I have 5! 1 male and 4 females. I started out with 1 male and two females. I bought them off a friend and he didn't know which ones were Male and Female, we finally figured it out when the two black velvets got pregnant! Trillian had a standard grey who we named Random, who is now in her new home, all fat and fluffy and Zaphod had two girls who I kept and are named Daisy and Twist. Marvin is a standard grey who lives on his own in the spare cage, and he is not happy about it!

Planning to get him neutered soon so he can rejoin his harem!
