TOBlerone... That's so great! Well done youu and your magical letter writing! x
My driving lesson went really well thankyou! Dad just found a ford focus estate on ebay for just under £2000 about 40 minutes from here which I'm quite excited about, it's an 03 plate toooothere are a couple of niggles that dad's going to phone our garage up about and ask how much it'd be to sort (milometer cuts out, we don't know if it records mileage when it's doing that... etc) and then depending on that will go and see it if it's still there! Hoping to maybe get the price down a couple of hundred as it's not been serviced for 10,000 miles/June 08 and that's £100 alone, even if it doesn't need anything doing.. It's silver though, which is sooo great, as we live in the middle of nowhere and our road, though tarmac, is so dusty and having a non-metallic car means it constantly looks absolutely filthy (yes, we're THAT car in the car park
)
I've been shopping today, came home straight to bed and fell asleep accidentally! I was only meaning to rest! Feel much better for it thoughGot lots of lovely things
Hope everyone's doing ok! x0 -
What wonderful news Tobruk!
I'm better today after having a mad wobbly last night (and embarrassing myself on this site) although still feeling a little down. It's nowt to worry about, just stress and tiredness due to school holidays, ministry of funny noises (youngest), Mr Aggressor (middle son), appointments (eldest son), study and upcoming TMA (Me!), plus still having this horrendous cough that youngest kindly gave me which has put my asthma out slightly.
After next Wednesday, I should be back to the calmer me!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hi gang
I've not been on for a while. I went to my parents on the weekend and hubby's off for the week so been with him rather than online etc.
Tobruk I'm SOO happy that you've got that award! And indefinitely too!! You must be positively doing (mental) cartwheels!! Hell, I think I'd attempt a physical one for that judgement!!
I've currently got my form to do and send back...:(
No poem from me I'm afraid, to fried!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I've just been quoted £300 to have my hoist fitted by a Brig Ayd approved installer.... Ridiculous, it's more than I paid for the thing!
Our local garage said they'd do it and just charge labour (they're really reasonably priced) but Brig Ayd won't provide fitting instructions.. Think they must get a cut of the price from their fitters. It just annoys me that people are making so much money out of something that I don't even want!
It's not something I need to worry about for a little while (we were considering fitting it to mum's car till I got mine, but not at those prices!) till I get my car anyway, but that'll be as soon as I find one that ticks most of the boxes..
Hope everyone's awap x0 -
Well done TOBRUK, I nominate you the groups official letter write now, you certainly know how to get things done
Well , I've had a strange week. It was Dads funeral on Monday and I havn't really felt right since, I dont think it had actually hit me until I was there iykwim
I have some good news at last though, I got my new mobility car on Saturday, a Peugot 207, its very new and shiny and Im a bit nervous of driving it still as it looks too nice lol. Then yesterday I got a cheque for £200 for sending back the old car in good condition ! I wasn't expecting that, its a nice bonus.
I've also finally heard from ex DIL, she had stopped all contact between us and our little Grandson 2 months ago after a problem with our eldest son which I wont go into on here. I've been devastated about this and kept writing and emailing her with no reply. She finally replied on Wednesday, we are talking again and she said we can see the little one again soon :j
LW I've been telling DH all about the Doggie work that you do and he's agreed it would be a lovely thing to do once Diamonds no longer with us. Obviously we are both hoping that wont be for a long long time, but she's almost 12 now and we have to be realistic.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Oh Sue, sorry that it's all hit you so suddenly, sending love your way.
That's such fab news about your grandson son thoughxx

Suep I'm so pleased that you'll be able to see your DGS again; you were so down over that, and it was so unfair.
When we signed up for the dog-sitting, obviously we had to be visited, and a check made that we (and our property) were suitable, but we also got to say what sort of dogs we could cope with, ie not ones that pull on the lead, or bounce off the walls the whole time, so you may find, in the fullness of time, that it's a worthwhile thing for you to think about doing. Also, if you're not available any time, that's fine too.:)
I know what you mean about it hitting you at the funeral; I was the same when our dear friend Colin died (he was instrumental in Mr LW and me getting together, so he was a very special friend). It was only when the curtains closed after the coffin had been taken through that it suddenly hit me.:(
Just be kind to yourself, and honestly, if you need to have cry, go ahead and do it. (((HUG)))If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Well it doesn't look like I will be seeing DGS now. The problem s my son took all the money out of their joint account after they split up, I cant understand why he would do this its a horrible thing to have done and I havnt seen him since, even though its not my fault this is why she wont let me see DGS. I offered to pay her the money back which is why she replied at last ! But as it's £800 I can only do it in installments and it will take me a long time to pay it back, so I asked if we had to wait until it was paid back before we saw him and she got a bit funny and said she will have to think about it. After speaking to a few people I was advised to ask for an agreement in writing between us, as there was no gaurantee she would let us have access after getting the money still and it would reassure her that it would be paid in full too. So I sent her an email and got a really nasty reply accusing me of trying to blackmail her ! shes really nasty in it and says the agreements off. This has made me think that my suspicions were right, and she was just after the money with no intention of letting us have access. Im not sure what to do now, part of me wants to go to the CAB to find out if I have any rights, and the other part just wants to give up, she's not a nice person and maybe it would be better to leave it and try and forget DGS. Sorry to blab it all on here, Im just really upset again, all this on top of my Dads funeral.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Oh Sue that's horrible. I've no idea if you've got any rights of access as a grandparent but well worth finding out right? As much as what was done wasn't nice, it wasn't you that did it, you didn't tell him to do it, and you didn't encourage it. I imagine she's taking it out on you because your son's not around for her to take it out on. She knows the thing that will hurt you most is not being able to see GS, I just hope that as the hurt subsides she sees sense... useless virtual *hugs* for you x0

Oh NO! Suep, you poor love, after getting your hopes up that you'd see DGS again soon.:( I have no idea about grandparents' rights either; but I wonder if it'd be worth putting the question on the Marriages, Relationships & Families board; there might be a kind soul there who would know? Just a thought. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
