Hi Tobruk, what a rotten way to spend Easter, I hope you get to see your family soon.
Tralia aaahhhhh, what a sweet little cat.
Right, I thought of this one in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, I have my best ideas then
I cant think of a poem today
my brains too foggy you see
I've been up since dawn
and I'm starting to yawn
Im too tired to drink my cup of tea
ok well not one of my best ideas , but thats all I can manageReal stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Suep that's pretty good - it certainly sums up how I'm feeling today ha! I can't manage a poem ... not even a line at the moment!;)0

Oh my ... oh dear ... I've just had a bit of a shock! I just checked my online bank account as I knew my DLA was going in today, well it was there BUT there was also another payment from them of a few hundred pounds!
Do you remember this I posted on 12th March:... things aren't great at the moment and I don't know whether I'm brave or stupid but I have posted a letter to DLA regarding the care rate they reduced to LCR although at the time there was no change in my care needs - The award I received was HMR indefinite and LCR indefinite. I was unable to respond to the decision within the allocated time because I was in hospital having a major op and then recovering! Anyway, I have explained this to them but also told them about changes in my circumstances and my condition since that claim, including having to sell the house and move to a bungalow (which GP supports) because of my needs. So I'm going to have to see how they respond! Oh God what have I done!:(
Just over 3 weeks ago I received a letter from DLA sayingthank you for your communication of 15/03/2010 asking us to look at your claim again. We are looking again at all the information that we have.It can take 11 weeks for a decision to be given.
I can't believe that just by writing them a letter (albeit a very long letter) that they have changed their decision. The other payment in my account today can only be that of backpayment after change in my DLA claim.0 -
EEEEK! WELL DONE! That's so fab. If the letter doesn't come through today then I'd (being as hugely impatient as I am) phone them up and ask, it should be on their computers. Fab! So glad to see you back aswell, I was only thinking about you yesterday x0

Hi Invasion, how are the driving lessons going? I have an automatic adapted car - it's brilliant even though it's 14 years old!;)
I do hope a letter comes through today, but I won't phone them if it doesn't (even though I'm also very impatient as far as this goes!) as I'd rather wait! The payment can only be a backpayment as there is no other explanation. I can't quite get the relief of knowing that they have changed their decision about mid care rate rather than low care rate until I see it in black and white - do you understand what I mean?0 -
Fantastic news TOBRUK. Are you going to get a new car if they have given you HRM indefinitely or use the money elsewhere?
Todays poem
My youngest recently broke her arm
They gave her a splint to keep her from harm
She's been back to the Hospital to get a full cast
And they've given her a purple one with gold sparkles
I don't know what it is, but I simply can't get the last line to work....In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
My poem for today
Yesterday I had quite a wobble
It really had me quite nobbled
But today I am back to form
I will not be forlorn
And hopefully the kids will behave! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Well ... I'm absolutely gobsmacked! The brown envelope arrived and I can't quite believe what I'm reading - they have awarded HRM indefinitely and HRC indefinitely! What!:eek: I was on MCR and from January it was reduced to LCR, how can they go from low to highest I just can't believe it! I keep reading the letter just incase I'm reading it wrong!Oscar_The_Grouch wrote: »Fantastic news TOBRUK. Well Oscar, it really doesn't bother me that my car is 14 years old, I think it's quite comfortable, it's low mileage - only 38,000 miles on the clock and passed M.O.T. in January no problem. It is however starting to show patches of rust on the body work ... a bit like me really Ha!
The thing is now though, my care rate has gone up - not sure how HCR works out as when I was having MCR I was also having some disability premiums, I expect I will still be getting this with the HCR. I know that the premium was added to my income support/incapacity also ... I shall see what the difference in payment will be when it goes into the bank.
Anyway, I'm now in a kind of state of disbelief at the moment!0 -
Trialia what a beautiful little pudd'n-cat!
Tobruk that's great news; I'm so pleased for you.
I have a confession to make - I wrote that poem a while ago (I used to write a lot of poetry) but it seemed so appropriate, as we'd been talking about cars.
I'm dogless now; the little girlies went back to their owner yesterday, and the bungalow seems 'orribly empty.
On a brighter note, we collected the giant easter egg we won in the Lions Club raffle last night.
I hope everyone's having as good a Wednesday as they can; time for me to get back to my Flylady list now. (Suep will know what I'm on about). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Wow, congratulations Tobruk!
Thanks for all the kitty compliments, on her behalf. She's a lovely little soul.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0
