Judging by my latest unsuitable housing offer (yes, another one today that had tons of steps to the front door again), my youngest is going to be the other side of her teens before I have somewhere to live!
Hope the sunshine continues and cheers everyone up/calms certain people down!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
A better day today with him..he did have a little shout this morning but nothing that couldn't be handled and thank goodness, he at least kept his hands and feet to himself.
I've been sat thinking about it and wonder if the changing season has got anything to do with things, or if it is just a coincidence...reason being is that it was this time last year he got really aggressive for a time, was strangling me with the seat belt in the car, whacked me round the head while I was driving, broke things around the house and basically kicked me so hard in the back I couldn't walk for days.
It was so bad at that time, I had to give up my little volunteer job at the special needs playgroup..plus of course, the injury to my back meant I couldn't go in for a while.
Other than that, we are fine...eldest had an appointment with the shoulder specialist yesterday and she is going to help him work on getting his shoulders stronger ready for Honduras next year. Youngest is well and truly over his chest thing...but the begger has given it to me now and my asthma is playing up (but nowhere near as bad as he was)!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Helloo Dane-Katie!
I'm annoyedI'm a member of a charity called ayme- association of young people w/ME. and we've had a new member join the message boards. She's made about 4 threads, in one she's talking about wanting to get a motability car as she gets HRM, in another she's talking about going SKIING! for her 18th birthday in a month or two, and admits that her symptoms are 90% conginitive, but that she does get muscle pains in her legs when she does too much, but having reduced her activity levels, that's ok now. If my legs were ok having reduced activity levels I would NOT be claiming HRM. I don't know she got it in the first place! If you can reduce your activity levels then you must have been walking a hell of a lot in the first place, which doesn't match up to HRM. It just annoys me, as this is exactly the reason people who really need these things have to fight so hard for it.

Hi Dane-Katie. Come and join the party. New members have to supply the biccies!!
Invasion - Sorry you're feeling a bit annoyed. Hope it all works out. My sister goes skiing on a regular basis, but does not ski - she looks after a small pile of handbags and chalet keys whilst everyone else does the actual snow bit. Any chance this person could be doing something similar? Either that, or are they going to turn round in a couple of weeks and say "Oh poor me; my ME was so bad I couldn't book the skiing holiday" for sympathy? In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Thanks Oscar
It wouldn't surprise me, she seems to be all about the attention, but she is actually skiing, and going on about wanting her birthday to be special.. "I'd hate to have to sit at home on my 18th haha!" when realistically, a whole lot of the people on that site have no choice but to do that. It's just so unbelievably insensitive! She reckons she gets HRM cos she gets "tired really easily
"

I'm back doing the geriatric shuffle and will probably sleep on the sofa tonight as I can't face the stairs. But because the inflammation is intermittent not permanant I get nowt! Don't get me wrong - I'm grateful that I am ok for the majority of the day - but my days of skiing are long gone. Bend ze knees - I can't get on or off the toilet somedays!!One life.0 -
I'm the same as you jennihen, I don't claim (have not even attempted) for my creaking joints despite sometimes finding it excrutiating to walk and move let alone ski (never been skiiing, wonder what it is like) because it is not all the time..some days there is no problem at all.We made it!
