I am so glad I don't have to through that each day. Putting in eye drops four times a day is bad enough. (the fact that I still haven't learnt how to do without missing doesn't help!:o)

HA ha! sh1305 yes putting in eye drops on your own is hit or miss, it's a skill especially when you've only got the use of one arm!

I'm glad you find my misfortune funny...

I have the use of both arms; but this doesn't make it any easier. I've been told by various people (including mum, someone who has been using them for years and a nurse at the hospital) how to put them in. I've done what they said and still miss.:(

Having no co-ordination doesn't help me whatsoever.

I'm sorry you took my post as laughing at you I can assure you I wasn't, and am extremely sorry if that's how you took it. I was laughing at myself, the trouble I get on the hit or miss problems as I have no choice but to do it myself! So sh1305, I'm very sorry if my post offended you and I hope you can forgive me.

When I lie down to put the drops in I have to hold the tube and hold my eye open with one hand - it goes all over the place and I can't make out how many drops go in.

Dry eyes can also be because of Sjogrens - another autoimmune overlap! I have dry , gritty eyes with pink margins. I get persistant eye infections and hate eyedrops. I can actually taste them in the back of my nose!! I love the episode of 'Friends' when Rachel has to have them! I also get a very sore tongue because my mouth is very dry.
If anyone wants a laugh right now I'm walking around in a very camp fashion with my elbows in at the ribs and very limp wrists. Something has gone wrong with my collar bones and shoulders - I literally couldn't wipe my own bottom. DD's could hear me moaning in the loo and thought I had an entirely different problem. Even offered to call an ambulance at one point!! Oh life!! - it'll be the end of us all!!

Jenni - I hope you're ok and that it's nothing too painful.

Oh no Auntie jennihen!!! You poor thing. What are you going to do tomorrow if it's not better??

I'm with you on the dry mouth, apparently if you have 'dry eyes' you can also have 'dry mouth' as part of M.E.

I do hope you get better before tomorrow.

Should be better by tomorrow - a good nights kip usually sets me up for the next morning and the the stupid pain builds up. When I stop in the evening -whomp - it hits me like a shovel. Spoke to lovely Dr who said I can up my steroids to a mega-dose and he'll see me Monday. I won't be able to go if its like this . . say a little prayer for me. I've been really uncomfortable sleeping at nightcos of these blooming shoulders!!
Sometimes I'd just like to be somebody else for a few days!!
Saw pictures of the baby today - he's so perfect . . My niece has Hypermobility so she suffers too - she's been well during the pregnancy but told me how surprised she was to have the pains in her joints come on so suddenly.
BIL was really sweet though - telling me he really believes that with all the advances in medical technology there will be a cure for all the autoimmune diseases soon. Heres hoping!
Night all - pleasant dreams xx
    One life.

We've had a fun day today going to a science weekend at Jimmy's farm but boy am I paying for it now...far too much walking, standing and rambling (we did the nature walk) and the result is me walking like an old woman, in lots of pain and absolutely exhausted.

The good news is that I managed to get my assignment done for my OU course....a big relief after the stress it has caused me.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

jennihen I'm really hoping you are well enough to go and see your new nephew today.

Singlesue, so glad to hear you have managed to get your assignment done, and although you are feeling exhausted you will be able to (hopefully) have a relaxing day today!

Talking about walking like an old woman, I can certainly relate to that! Another night on the sofa and my legs today are feeling really unsteady and very painful. No shower for me today!! Tomorrow the hairdresser is coming and having my hair cut - so glad as I wouldn't be able to go to a hairdresser salon. I've had a hairdresser coming to the house for a few years now and fairplay, brushes up all the hair afterwards. If I can't get dressed there is no problem. It makes such a difference - anyone else use a mobile hairdresser?

Hope everyone is ok today, and all you mothers out there - a very happy mother's day to you and hope you have a relaxing and pampered day.;)
