I can't quite remember the name of it - it's something to do with the nerves in the back of my eyes. I think he said it's nerve damage or something. Will find out when I get my letter about it.

Yeah, it was a hospital appointment. I was so close to walking out too.

  • Hi All,

Been lurking for a bit - hands not working & loads of appointments, plus annoyed that my (4th) wheelchair is broken. It's now 17 minutes past wine o'clock so I'm going to pour a glass for me and Mrs Grouch!!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.

Well I hope it's not too serious. That is a long wait! I saw an eye specialist about 5 years ago because I was having very bad blurred vision, I thought I was going blind! I had this stuff put in them for a certain test and I had an iodine stain around the eyes after. Turned out to be DRY EYES, I'd never heard of it but something to do with the tear ducts - the eyes weren't being cleaned. I have drops for them. I didn't have to wait that long though!!

These days I'm having double vision on a daily basis. Never worn glasses although last eye test was given reading glasses if I needed them. I am due for an eye test now and have had 2 reminders, so must do something about it! The last 6 months I have had to use them occasionally, some days I can read perfectly without them but then other times I can't read anything without them - really weird!

I have this too and it's part of the reason why I always look so tired or as though I've just woken up.

Yep - that's another one I've got, Dry Eye Syndrome and Blephiriatus You need to use the drops or gel several times a day, What have they given you? the drops are cheaper to prescribe, but I have found the Gel - Viscotears much better. Also have some revolting cream to use at night, Lacrilub, once you up it in your eyes you can hardly see anything so It's a right pain if you cant sleep at night. Also have to bath eyes with warm water on cotton wool four times a day to keep some tears flowing and stop some of the redness.

Then there's the two lots of nasal sprays and forty odd tablets a day, plus of course those wonderful Suppositories to look forward to because the nerves are damaged.
Thinking about going to bed buy can't face the whole process of pills and potions yet again and still feel like C***. Goodnight all , hope you sleep better than I will.

Yes Saversue, it is the Gel - viscotears I get, I just called it drops! They have to be used a few times a day, but still having problems these days with double vision, and no I haven't been on the bottle ha! I do hope you managed to have some sleep, I slept on the sofa again last night but woke up at 4am and needed the toilet so went upstairs and then slept in bed until 7.30am. How are your boys now, I hope things have calmed down a bit for you!

Tablets! It's a full time job taking them, although mine have reduced a bit to 20 a day, phew!

I am so glad I don't have to through that each day. Putting in eye drops four times a day is bad enough. (the fact that I still haven't learnt how to do without missing doesn't help!:o)
