Does it have sequels called 'Crunch' 'Twang' "grind' 'Thunk' and '&*$&*& me! That HURT!' ?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Morning all - is too much to hope for that Spring has sprung. Saw the baby lambs in the field and went all mushy!!
So much pain - this is not funny anymore. Had a great afternnon at work yesterday (book-keeping for a lady in a wheelchair) She kept saying "I don't know where you get your energy!" but by the evening I was doing the geriatric shuffle (no offense ) - barely made it up the stairs last night.
The pertinent bit about the lady in the wheelchair is that after years of not using hers legs they have turned inwards and are so stiff and painful. I should be grateful that my aches and pains are transient.
Hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Hello everyone, I'm feeling exhausted (as usual), aching all over ... the meds haven't kicked in at all this morning. The trouble is I have to get to the hospital for a CT scan with contrast (dye) for 11.45am and at the moment I don't know how I'm going to manage it, but will have to somehow! Why is it that when you aren't supposed to have anything to eat or drink for 2 hours before the scan you are always thirsty?! I haven't been dressed at all for 5 days so it's going to be a struggle. Oh well, mustn't moan ha!:) At least looking on the positive, the hospital isn't far so no long journey.
Hope everyone else is ok and having an ok morning.0 -

Thanks sh1305, the scan will be ok I'm sure, they say it will take around 30 mins and they will inject the dye before the scan - the last ct scan (before the op) I had I wasn't given the dye. The surgeon wants to make sure that he hasn't left anything and has had all the tumour and nothing else is wrong. I won't know the result until I see him next.
Gosh I could really do with a coffee right now! I have managed to get dressed which has tired me out. Anyway I'll have a little rest for half an hour before going.0 -
Hi everyone.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to convince my very proud elder son to accept help in his exams? He was at times in absolute agony during his mocks and coming home in tears despite dosing up on painkillers because of the amount of writing that is required. The school are willing to provide him with a scribe or a laptop for his GCSE's but he is just too proud to accept that help.
He knows he needs the help, he knows why he needs the help but he is not quite at the point of accepting that help and it could have an adverse impact on his GCSE results and thus, an impact on his 6th form courses that he desperately wants to do.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Would it help if instead of him seeing it as him being different and disabled, seeing it as an enabling device to help him beat the problems his disability poses for him? I try to see it that if pain is making me cry, I'm being beaten by my illness, and if I can take all precautions and help that makes a difference them I'm triumphing over it... I don't know if that makes sense, but I do understand where his difficulty in accepting help comes from, it's not easy, especially at school were differences are a big target for people to make fun of you and generally be immature and pathetic. I hope his exams go well for him0
