A very sad day for me today.

Don't think I can type it out again, or I'll start crying again, so link to my post on Old Style Daily thread:

It's Post #32 on this page.
Hope everyone's having a happier one than I am today.

Huge hugs Lame Wolf, I know exactly how you feel. Nothing I can say will ease your pain, she must have recognised your love and admiration for her, to have allowed you to scratch her side. I've read your links to that sanctary and know she and the others lived well and happily there - hope you can take comfort in that.

  • Big hugs to you LW. I can empathise with how much you are grieving and the magnitude of your loss. I hope you can celebrate her life in time rather than grieve for her passing.

Aww huge hugs to you LW, I know when my first cat died I was so distraught that I had to be sent home from work...I luckily had a very devout dog owner as a boss and he knew how he would feel if one of his boys passed away.

Anyway, a quieter day today as middle son finally returned to school after his stay in hospital so time to catch up on some study, get some housework done and do some shopping without having to push a wheelchair...I actually felt myself unwinding as the day went on, I was rather like a coiled spring the last few days.

I'm also so full of gratitude to some of the people on this site, I'd had bad news on my holiday for this year and posted about it (as a passing comment) on the debate house price board and the wonderful people on there have all rallied to my aid....who said we can't do hugs on there, they have literally had me in tears (nice tears) with all their lovely support and plans, it has been absolutely mind blowing.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

((((hugs )))) to LW and chocolate.....very sad ....but she had a good life and not in a teeny weeny cage..and loved meeting people ect. you think more of animals than humans ..i was heart broken when little doey hamster suddenly died at xmas ..always miss him.. have a Eric hamster now ! so different in his ways ..i always love this poem some one sent me...need tissues ! warning ..

By the edge of a wood at the foot of the hill, Is a lush green meadow where time stands still, Where friends of a man and woman do run, when their time on earth is over and done, For here between this world and the next , Is a place where each beloved creature find's rest ! On this golden land they wait and play till Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer in pain or sadness for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness!!!! Their limbs are restored their health renewed their bodies have healed strength imbuled !!!! They run through the grass without even a care, untill one day they Stop and sniff the air !!! All ears pricked forward, eyes dart side to side, Then all of a sudden one breaks from the pack ! For just that instant their eyes have met Together again person and pet, So they run to each other these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last !! The sadness they felt whilie they were apart has turned into Joy once more in each heart, They embrace with a love that will last forever and side by side they cross over together !!
the truth is out there ... on these pages !!

    Thank you, all of you.

So many people think it strange that I get upset at the passing of a four-legged, but hey, that's how I am.

    Paw, that's a beautiful poem.

SingleSue, don't try to catch up with everything all at once; take it in easy stages if you can. Let's hope your lads can stay away from hospitals for a bit.

    CwtA how's things with you?

I hope all my friends here are having a better time - spring seems to finally be on it's way (I even managed to dry some washing outside!) so hopefully we'll start to feel the benefits of nicer weather and lighter evenings.

Been resting today, as I had a migraine earlier - we're having jacket spuds for dins, and Mr LW has said he'll cook them when he gets in. I'm going to go and try to get them started though, it's not fair for him to do it all after a day at work.

Have a good evening all, and in case I don't get online, a good weekend also.

    Morning all!
So sorry to hear your sad news LW - Of course you're upset, the loss of a four-legged friend is every bit as hard to bear as any other loss. Anyone who doesn't understand that has never had a meanful relationship with another one of God's amazing creatures.
I hope the sun seeks you out today and warms your bones x
    One life.

it's not strange. I've been upset over losing animals and my mum always gets upset when she knows it's time for them to go.
