Wow, made it through another terrible week. Only good news is the Postie came with a small parcel today. An Energy Monitor from British Gas, I can't find the link I used to apply, but it was only about two weeks ago! Amazing!!!
It was free to anyone over 70 - not me, even though I feel like it; or anyone on HDLA (that's me); AA or some of the means tested benefits. Just need someone to set up the bit that goes onto the main electricity cable into the house and then I will be able to watch how much it's costing to stay in 24/7 - oh joy - wouldn't it be wonderful if you could get one for the gas too, I don't think.0 -
Hi all. Am still lurking.
Thanks for asking lw. am still waiting for the hospital referral appointment *sigh* Been nearly 2 weeks now and haven't even got an appointment letter yet! Will be chasing up again today.
Have SS assessment today at 10.30am - which is why I am up before mid-day. Think it was invasion who was interested to know about it so will post back on how it went.
Been having some beautiful weather here - cold but real clear, sunny spring days which do the soul good.
Off for more cups of tea now!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
LW really sorry about your loss, it's totally understandable, animals are just as much worth our grief as humans.
Good luck CWTA, hope assessment goes well.0 -

2 weeks:( That's a long time when you're worried sick about something. I hope you can get them to give you an appt soonest. Sometimes it's the squeaky wheel that gets oiled - you need to be the squeaky wheel iykwim.
I too am interested how you get on with SS.:o
Sunshine in Concrete Cow Country, too - and a lineful of Mr LW's clothes outside.:)
Have a good Monday, all.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Slightly overcast here and even if it was sunny, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as I am desperately trying to catch up on the study I got behind with when middle son was in hospital and his recuperation on his return home. Luckily my tutor has given me an extension on my TMA, so it has taken some of the heat off but it is still pretty much full on.
I'm supposed to be doing legal research online right now but after a solid 2 and a half hours of study (no breaks, no movement from my spot and real concentration due to dyslexia and the words swimming about), I am going legal term crazy! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hi everyone, hope you're not too bad today and hopefully it will be a better week for everyone.
LW, very sorry for your loss I'm sure it's a very difficult time. CWTA, oh dear, it's so hard waiting when you're worried, hopefully you'll get the appointment very soon. SaverSue, hope you can get your study done and can catch up without any other dramas around you this week, hope your son is a lot better.
I'm struggling these days, had a CT scan on Thursday, had an appointment for MRI scan for 20th March - GP ordered it because a couple of falls I had and couldn't move my legs at all for a short time - very very scary!
I'm trying to do some dusting and a little cleaning today (although I'm really not up to it) as someone is coming to see the house tomorrow morning at 11am - this will be second viewing of the house!0 -
Don't envy you the law SingleSue! Donoghue v Stevenson 1932 is all I can remember!! Oh - and Smith v Manchester Corp 1974!! Keep going!!!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

Hi again
lw I put extra water in the kettle specially for you. *g*
Assessment was good - she gave me pointers towards a council run handyman service that charges £5 per hour labour plus any parts - can do things as small as change a light bulb! Am gonna make a list of all those little things like tightening shower hose etc and get them in for a couple of hours. They wil help me with DAL forms and she says I should qualify for mid rate care and mid/high rate mobility.
Referral to OT for assessment for bathing aids, but waiting list is between 12 to 18 months *sigh*
So I now have a "Case Worker" - one point of contact for all benefit/care needs - handy.
Also had letter from hossie re mouth - possible 9 week wait for urgent appointment! Good job I am not mega worried otherwise I would be going spare. I'm just frustrated coz nothing seems to be happening and it'll be sods law that the appointment will come when I'm away - off to scillys for 10 days again at beginning of April - with s/e
Hugs to allI must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Just had a quick catch up, so sorry to hear the news LW, I know completely what you mean about being attached to animals, I love my 2 kittys to bits and even though they can annoy the hell out of me at times, they are my 'furbabies', some gentle *hugs* coming your way xxxxx:idea: Jan 09.
