Hiya all....I'll make you that cuppa Oscar, one lump or two? Just please don't say you want a coffee, I am hopeless at making coffee!
Ok, my update....it was just a temp blip with my mental state, I haven't had so many down days this week and stopped bursting into tears by Tuesday night, maybe hormonal? I can never tell as I had a hysterectomy in 2001 (ovaries remained) so don't get the tell tale 'sign'.
Getting frustrated with eldests' referrals, his local physio stopped last week as the physio was no longer confident with his treatment due to the possible diagnosis (Marfans or Ehlers Danlos, either way it is a connective tissue disorder) and the myriad of joint problems he has and it was supposed to be a seamless transfer over to the specialist physio for his normal every fortnight appointments....the appointment has come through for the end of April! We are still also waiting for the Ortho wrist specialist and geneticist appointments which we are supposed to have seen them in time for the next paediatrician appointment in May....and still no word on a referral for rheumatology.
For youngest, his paediatrician has congratulated me on a job well done on keeping his asthma in control despite the blip in November when he ended up in hospital. He is also extremely pleased that youngest has been able to go to a normal high school (he said he would never be able to go mainstream due to his autism) and is sort of coping albeit with a heck of a lot of support. Also due to eldests' problems, they are now possibly going to check youngest as he has been diagnosed hypermobile since he was a toddler..more blooming appointments!
Anyway, my shoulder is giving less problems, my back has been holding up well but the wrist splint is back on.
Now who has the cakes? We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Hi all,
I'm sort of back again. I need a hot chocolate with a good lashing of brandy & topped with whipped cream - best place to get a decent one is here so here I am! I've had a few stressful days and as many sleepless nights so thnk it may help.
Sue - I understand the way you question your emotional state as having been ?hormones as I had a hysterectomy (got ovaries too) 6 years ago and go through phases when I can't seem to stop crying, yet don't seem to have a logical reason. Even things like the Andrex puppy ads can bring tears to the eyes .. most odd!
On another level, tears are the body's way of letting us know we're on over-load and is it's way it releases the pressure on it it. I once read a beautiful passage that said something along the lines that tears are nature's way relieving the pressure our body and is akin to a valve releasing pressure and helps to heal us. Each tear-drop that's shed takes us closer to being whole again and we should acknowledge them for being just that even if we don't understand why we are crying. I wish I could find it again as it was so wonderfully written and far more eloquently put across than than I've managed here..0 -

Bluedog, thank you for that post - as I'm another one who can burst into tears at the drop of a hat, it was interesting reading. One canine to another - how're you doing these days? One hot chocolate with all the trimmings coming up, and if anyone fancies apple pie, I've made one, and also some cheese straws. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello everyone, not sure what I'm doing here - to be honest wasn't sure what this thread was all about! I have read a few pages here and recognised a few names who used to pop in on the old 'fibro' thread I used to visit and then all of a sudden the thread vanished!!
I suppose I'm here to have a little moan as I'm feeling a bit out of sorts (since 1997!;)) as I'm aching all over, I'm in my pyjamas most days (last time I dressed was a week yesterday!) and feeling absolutely exhausted ... for a change!
My GP has increased the dose of Pregabalin to the max dose (600mg a day) and also told me to increase the Amitriptilyne to 20g, although I haven't found that these changes have made any difference!
Since having a major operation (removing a large tumour from bowel) on 17th December, my ME symptoms have soared!! My GP said she wasn't surprised as someone who was healthy having the op would find it difficult. Obviously it's taking time to heal! There are things I'm not supposed to do, not that I'd be up to doing them anyway! I haven't been out since the op apart from hospital visits, GP visits, although I have been back home for 10 days (100 miles away) staying with my parents for a change - being tended on! It was a change from looking at the four walls at my house!!
Anyway, sorry I'm rambling on ... hope you didn't mind me popping in. Hope you are feeling ok ... ish0 -
Morning all!!
Kettle's on!!
Hi TOBRUK - I read your post with interest - I have a relative on Ami for fibro and she is thriving on it. Some of these drugs work for one person and not another - I still looking for the right combination . . .One life.0 -
Hi jennihen, thank you for your reply. I'm taking Ami for M.E. and although I've gone from 10mg a night to 20mg since over a week ago I'm not feeling any benefit as yet, maybe I need to give it more time. I'm just feeling so rough and so exhausted ... my body just hurts all over.
Hope everyone here is feeling ok today.;)0 -
Morning everyone!
I went into major panic mode last night as I discovered a large lump on middle sons neck....and not in the usual lymph gland area that I knew about. Just been upto the doctors with him and he says it is a lymph gland up (blooming weird position for it!) and nothing to worry about unless it doesn't go down again soonish.
Now feel incredibly silly to have taken him up for such a normal thing and wasting the doctors time.....in my defence, I never knew a lymph gland was even in that position!
Big relief though, couldn't sleep last night for worry and really wanted to talk about it to someone but my parents phone was constantly engaged and didn't have a clue where to ask on here.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Good morning!
I think you did the right thing with going to the doctors. No one on here could have advised you without being able to see it and it's definitely better safe than sorry by speaking to the doctor!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
