In regards to DLA, I thought you could just fill out the claim form with the bits relevant to care rather than the entire thing? Because you aren't renewing, you are asking them to look at your claim again. It would be worth giving them a ring to ask! I hope it goes well. :)
Not so, afaik. You have to apply for mobility and DLA using the same form. When you apply for either element they judge both and award/disaward both using the same form. To apply for either element means both elements get reevaluated.

They have taken them away, as it was apparently scaring newbies off!! So we are not allowed to have a negative emotion anymore (would have inserted an eyeroll smiley here if I could!).
!!!!!!. I have read the post :money: put up now, and I can understand why they did what they did but still....! It's not really gonna mean much when you can use inserted smileys.
    Afternoon all!!

  • ok im being a numpty whats dt andc what drama did i miss thats been deleted now?

morag nice to see you, you know where i am on facebook if you fancy a chat anytime, or my pm inbox here.

the trolls go out of there way in certain boards on mse to try and upset people, its partly why i dont read the whole of d&d and dont venture onto the benefit boards here, theres no point in seeing what they ahve to say when it may make me want to argue which wouold be a waste of time and energy...i agree with the its an internet forum thoughts, its pretty impossible to ban someone though (having been banned form a certian website more than once, or twice, and still ahvign an account there), i dont see what good removing the smileys will do but if they think it will help then so be it...martin may have a point, if they ahve to use words it can be more clear cut than smileys...time will tell.

    going back to lurking now.

dragon still some coffee cake left for little paw please ?
jazz i did go to a dial ..which was miles and miles away ....turns out guy who runs it lives at bottom of my road .but won't help from home only to drop stuff in letter box...and did checks on me first ! felt like going to the police ! so gave up there..but they do good work..was told to go to brilliant disability group who fight for your rights and a good kill in court..of course you have to be disable to get there help..( all free)....which most of us are ! you sign away your permission to get stuff ..so you dont do anything your self they get all doctor/hospital/clinics/speci/ect notes and make a file up which they send off.and keep them selves..and in tribunal they read out from notes and pass such around and help you answer in the right way ....brilliant like high class lawyers !!

ESA my brother has just gone through all this ...the old way was lots better ..as this is so confusing.he has gone now to the so called support group and no doc certificates needed for 3 years !

Sorry, I was asking what this disability group was called. Are they just local to you? I would like help like that, and I do have DIAL, a Welfare Office, etc. So if they were near, that could really help me.

Hmm coffee cake and coffee martinis all round then I think!

Yep all the DLA is on one form and that is why I am so antsy about applying - I might try phoning them though and see if I can just extend the mobility into care.

CWTA - please take care of yourself and get any/all help you can!

    Thanks very much!

That is quite risky though. For example if you say you can't walk (because you can't on your bad days) and then they see you walking, they will take it away and say you were fraudulently claiming.

If you detail sometimes you can't walk, but sometimes can with a stick and then they see you, you've been honest and so it's fine.

Most professionals fill it in saying on a good day it's like this, but on a bad day it's like this. It then covers all your bases. :)

    This is true

I don't like the format of the form at all.

Have just sorted out my own DLA extension and it has taken me 5 long months of a lot of stress. Finally the DWP contacted my Orthopaedic surgeon and DLA was granted for another two years.
