Oh CWTA! that's a) amazingly skillful ;) and b) somewhat annoying to say the least. I hope you can get some help and that you're not in tooo much pain!

Oscar, I've just ordered a new pill organiser.... my current one I broke putting too many tablets in and trying to shut the little section... New one is multicoloured and am very excited ;)

I went to the dr's this morning to talk about pain relief with him, and update him on current situation etc. Had to wait half an hour before called in, spent 20 of those lying on the waiting room floor :p it was a good visit, I like him which is always good, for the time being we're trying upping my ami to 20mg and seeing how things go from there, and got Rizatriptan- a.k.a maxalt melts for migraines (I had to tell him that I had definitely not used some of dad's prescription to try them out ;)) had a good sleep when I got home and feeling not too bad today, though still a long way from managing college for a while yet...

Hope all as well as poss and let's try not to break anything else?!

Delurks to give pcl a link to the smilie fiasco :D

I'm not posting much atm cos I'm a lot cheesed off by the growing insensitivity of the MSE admin to long term posters in favour of the "newbies". I deplored the way the much needed/used fibro thread was closed and a new "help and advice only" thread opened just cos a poster with a post history of causing conflict felt unwelcome.

I am disgusted that harmless and funny AE's from the Housing Debate board are hounded and ppr'd regularly whilst no action is taken against the genuine trolls who stalk the boards.

I was incandescent that a poster got away with linking to the Black Dog thread in a post in DT to demonstrate attention seeking - sure the thread was deleted but that poster is still around and that was not the first time he caused a stir.

Anyway, I just don't feel comfortable posting too much but i still read a lot :D

cwta What a bummer with your wrist  I guess you can't drive either? how's your dad doing? What did you think of the dust up in the Arms?

pcl huge respect for stopping for 6 mths, I've only ever managed 5 weeks :o how's chloe doing? I did agree with your points on choice the other week.

still thinking of Sharon hugs if you are reading and the same to suep and the others MIA.

Sorry, brain fog now descended so sorry for not answering/commenting further :D

Good luck. You may want something like polos if you miss having something in your mouth.

  • Hi Morag. I asm risking driving at essential times only as I have an automatic (thank god!). Dad is healing slowly although in a lot of pain (thanks for asking/remembering). He's actually snapped the ball off the top of his humerus and cracked the socket too. They offered him option of operation or loss of movement in future and thank heavens he didnt go fotr the op. I really dont think he's stong enough to get through any operation. His arm is black with bruising from the base of his neck to his wrist and it just makes me want to cuddle hinm and cry when I see it.

I didn't know anything about what was happening in the arms until the threads last night. I think it all got a bit out of hand (slight understatement!) and, although I understand people took it personally, I do just think "it's an internet forum !!!!!!!". Absolutely agree with you about the link in the thread in DT, but you will be aware I said my twopenneth at the time.
Understand your frustrations about AE's and troublesome posters and am sorry they are having such an effect on you.
    You are welcome elsewhere iyswim.

invasion I was impressed with what I managed to do too! Specially as I had just stayed with a friend who has bath/shower chair etc and was considering at the time I slipped!

sharon you OK sweetheart? I need you for knitting help!! *g*

  • cwta thank god for automatics eh, not sure I'd cope well if I lost use of my car. DD did something very similar to your dad last March skiing and being only 28 she had it plated and pinned and is still having physio - so I have every sympathy with you and your dad, much harded to sit and watch isn't it?.

I was just in the process of replying to that thread when it went. The Arms thing on tues and Wed got very very nasty with a dreadful attack on two posters with disabled kids and pure vitriol against Welshwoofs and Adey of all people. The thing that gets me is that MSE think removing two sodding smilies will improve it shrug.gif

Oh no, what were they saying about the disabled kids? Was it benefits related?

There are some nasty people on here. I don't understand why some people can believe some of the crap they say.
