Sorry I've been so quiet, guys. Got a move-in date for the new place: 4th February. Hopefully I will be physically fit enough to handle packing by then - have been pretty bad the last week or so, overwhelming fatigue, lots of subluxations and chest pain, though I think that last is the usual costo flare. I've got to get an appointment with my doctor before I move...
Glad you're all around. I hope everyone else improves too *hugs you all carefully*Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

Was it DIAL? I keep hearing good things about DIAL, but they are miles away from me, and said they couldn't help when I asked.
I'm worried about if I have to got to tribunal again I will have no one to support me. CAB were useless last time, our town don't have a Welfare Officer that helps individuals, I've tried various Essex Disability Groups etc. If you found someone useful I'd like to know who they were so I can see if we have one?
I would love someone to come with me to the tribunal to represent me. I don't think I could go through it again."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
I know how you feel Jaz, I'm preparing for tribunal at the moment but the CAB near me 'don't deal with DLA', there isn't a DIAL close enough so they say they can't help and the disability group said they didn't know, and were worried they would get it wrong.
I'm finding it really stressful and horrid...I'm hoping I can get an extra doctors note explaining everything and maybe they'll change their mind without tribunal?Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

Aw, I went through a tribunal last year and it wasn't a fun experience at all.
Are you in Essex? There seems to be a huge gap here with no help near me at all. Just wondered if we were in the same area!
CAB said they were too busy to get the claim forn. They did help a little with the tribunal - but they simply wrote to a couple of people to get additional information, which I could have done. I needed someone to help me gather evidence and present it effectively instead.
Did you have medical evidence in your original claim? GPs letters, consultants, etc? I don't think one letter will change their minds, sorry.Have you asked for an oral hearing?

Aw, yeah, it's a very stressful experience. Obviously I keep thinking about it again, and I think I missed out loads of points. He barely asked about the care I needed.
He didn't ask anything that wasn't on the original claim form. The claim form contains 100 x the information his report will.I get sore nostrils too, and I'm on amitrip and tramadol- both things which can give you a dry mouth.. Though can also be related to allergies. Mine get to the point where the insides of my little nose-y get so sore and dry that they scab and it's really uncomfortable, I find Sterimar- 100% natural sea water spray- really helps to stop them getting to dry and sore... you squirt it up your nose for long enough for it to drain back out of your nose, just don't swallow anySaucySecrets wrote: »I know how you feel Jaz, I'm preparing for tribunal at the moment but the CAB near me 'don't deal with DLA', there isn't a DIAL close enough so they say they can't help and the disability group said they didn't know, and were worried they would get it wrong.

I'm highly doubting that they would change their minds about the tribunal. The only way it would get dropped is if you withdraw. The only reason there's a tribunal is if you're pushing for a resolution that can't be reached any other way. If you stop pushing, then there's no tribunal, but you won't get the resolution that you want either.
Tria I hope you get the energy for packing soon. I know how it feels to know it has to happen but not have what it takes.
 to everyone else, I can't remember anything else!
I only got to sleep about 5.30am and then woke up at like 4pm. It's annoying me now. I'm starting to consider staying up through tonight to try and reset for sleeping tomorrow night."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Bad day today. Left hand is cold. Typing is all over the place and spasms in my back are bad. Not feeling my legs very well....

I've overdone it....in a bid to keep my brain busy to stave off the down feelings I have been having, I did a mad sort out of my cupboard under the stairs (which is also where the pc is).
This produced 2 big bin bags of stuff to throw out (I have been very brutal) but instead of waiting for eldest to get home and take them around to the back garden where our wheelie bin is, I took them around myself...one of them, only by kicking at the bottom while lifting at the top one step at a time.
Now my shoulder is agony, my back a nightmare, I have a headache...and to top it all, finally sat down, a sad song came on on my media player and I sat here and blubbed like a good un.
Oh well, won't have to do that clear out again for a while. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Good luck with the DLA Jaz (and what is ESA people?), not been on much as my computer is playing silly beggars (as is my pain and my SAD), fed up with ,medical appointments, Dr Dragon hopes to get the computer back and working well tonight (well for a little longer but I probably need another computer *sigh*)
Hugs to everyone else and if anyone has made any coffee cake recently ......... :whistle:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
