Hugs to everyone else and if anyone has made any coffee cake recently .........
Thank you!
ESA is employment and support allowance. It took over Incapacity Benefit recently.
Sorry to hear your pain and SAD is bad at the moment."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Thanks for the info on ESA - I have been on IB for a fair few years so I am guessing this is why I haven't come across it
Hmm I have been wondering about applying for the care portion of DLA as I cannot cook and need help up and down stairs but I have heard horror stories of people losing everything and I do need the mobility componentDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Ah yes, I think people already on IB kept it, it was new claimants that went on ESA - but having never been on either, I'm not entirely sure!
In regards to DLA, I thought you could just fill out the claim form with the bits relevant to care rather than the entire thing? Because you aren't renewing, you are asking them to look at your claim again. It would be worth giving them a ring to ask! I hope it goes well."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Afaik it's the new version on Incapacity Benefit. Incap isn't available to new claimers anymore, they now have to go on to ESA - whose name is misleading imho as I'm sure it's something to do with assisting people back into work... *goes off to check the anacronym* ...Emploment and Support Allowance. *sigh*

Oh sorry, I crossed posts with you!
They have taken them away, as it was apparently scaring newbies off!! So we are not allowed to have a negative emotion anymore (would have inserted an eyeroll smiley here if I could!)."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Morning everyone! It was a real struggle getting up today - out of my nice warm bed."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0

i missed that did they post it somewhere?
dragon good to see you, been missing you. do apply for dla if you need the care, if possible get dial or cab to help. if not check out benefitsandwork for some info (and i recomend joining and using the guides its well worth it imo and helped immensly with my dla claim and last renewal). when is the mobility component due for renewal? yeah there are horror stories out there, but so long as nothing has improved re th emobility side and your care needs have increased thus needing that element too they shouldnt remove it...0 -

Have been lurking for a while as didn't have much to add, but wanted to stay in touch what everyone was up to.
Had a bit of a mishap yesterday and slipped geting into bath and broke my right wrist - yes, I'm right handed. Left arm/hand is next to useless, so next few weeks will be entertaining as I can't even put the braces on my left arm unless I tighten them with my teeth!
Time to give into Social Services referral I think as I can't afford to injure myself on top of everything else.
See, I only post to have a winge! *g*
oscar, little things like sorting bill boxes out can make the diff between a good day and a (our degrees of) normal day. Good for DW.
