Hi Wildflower and welcome to the Old Crocks. We're quite a zany bunch but are friendly and the virtual calorie free food is just fab.
On the work front I can see where you are coming from, some employers can be complete dratsabs (this is the way my dyslexic friend spells barstewards if you get my drift - I don't want to be censored).
It is good that you have kept a record of everything that has happened although I doubt that the union will look at it because it is something that was going on before you joined them. Sorry but its true - I used to be a union official so now exactly how they work:rolleyes:
Don't ever fret about seeking and getting new employment because you can approach Access to Work for an assessment of your workplace and they can recommend ways in which reasonable adjustment can be achieved - any equipment that you need will be funded by Access to Work in its entirety but only during the first 6 weeks of your new employment, after that the employer has to make a contribution. It is the law that the employer has to make reasonable adjustment.
I was made redundant last year from a large higher education establishment after working for them for 12 years, I got picked on by my then boss because he not only hated women but he hated disabled people because according to his religion that a disabled person must have done something bad to become that way:mad: I had to put up with a lot and couldnt even get the Health & Safety Department to do a workstation assessment - it took them until May last year to do it and I had been struggling since January:mad: They were extremely proud of their Positive about Disabled People symbol and yet they only ever paid lipservice to it because although they were happy to recruit disabled people they made no attempt to retain them:mad: It took me a long while to get over working for them because I was extremely bitter and to this day I have no idea of the outcome of my grievances:rolleyes: - anyway that's up to them, I have since moved on because life is too short to waste my time and breath on them.
Mind you, I am now self employed having officially started test trading this Monday (a self employment scheme via the jobcentre) but I was rather vindictive the other week towards my ex employer. I visited a trade show at the NEC and lo and behold my ex employer was there, so I approached them and asked for details of their conference facilities and wedding facilities (I know all about these anyway) so I let the manager rattle on and on, then I was given a pen and asked for my business card but I refused telling them that I would never ever in a month of sundays ever use their facilities or put money into their pocket after the way in which I was treated. I was then told that I had wasted this woman's time so I pointed out that half an hour of her time did not compare to the wasted 12 years of mine:rotfl: I felt so good after that - yeah, I know it was childish but who cares?
If you love icecream Wildflower then Lidl has some of the best - I just love their marscapone with fruits of the forest sauce and pistachio nuts...yum, its just never in stock now when I visit:rolleyes:
Well folks it is blowing a blizzard out there and the snow has settled and continues to settle.0 -

I have just unlocked the door and come in for the early morning cleaning...sweeps floor, empties dishwasher and reloads it. Wiped down all the tables - put the bins out (think we need to get a cat because a rat ran across my foot:eek: ). Must remember to sweep up crumbs on a daily basis because we don't want rats thinking that they can come in to warm their tootsies by the fire and eat crumbs.
Hope the partygoers had fun in the handbag
Now the cafe is clean and tidy and ready for the morning.
Horace, switches off the lights, locks the door and puts the key under the stone frog0 -
Just popped in with my DD's two foul cats. I'm sure they will cope with any rats since they have decimated our harvest mice, the frogs from our pond and the odd bird.
Don't worry though - they are great with people and our old dog too! Just send them home in the morning.Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
I hope this place is well stocked with peanut butter....I seem to live on the stuff. Tea and peanut butter sandwiches, that's what keeps me going.
