Will the dinner tonight be enough for us all here?;)

Have you space in your virtual handbag to let us all enjoy your anniversary.:j:j:j:j:j:rotfl:
Nothing like having an impromptu get together with friends, whatever the weather.

I'm off for a real bath, with real lavender swished around in it. Got to make myself beautiful for the virtual meal tonight...
Cafe moved to Lucyhope's handbag for the evening.. OK?:D:D

  • Can I join the fun? My weakness is icecream by the 2 litre, top of the range or cheap as chips if I must. With fresh mango and clotted cream. Strawberries/fruits of the forest. Summer pudding to remind us that this is the season of mellow fruitfulness, even if you can't get the fruit from the tress anymore.

Just found this new forum. Brought tears to me eyes. Light another nicotine stick - do I care if that shortens my life of a day of pain? No, not today I don't..

The Spoons are a wonderful explanation of the cost of living, if I may phrase it thus. I have some today, despite the 3 day old headache, the pain in my shoulder and the feelings.

So lost. Dunno what to do. Very scared now. Got refused a year's leave of absence from work so I could try and get the pain and the drugs down. Got myself signed off but am now at the mercy of the gp to keep on doing so. Can't leave and get another job, too much time off sick and too concerned about the disability costs of starting somewhere new.

45 years with PTSD, finally formally diagnosed in 2006. Arthritis and multiple joint problems. Anxiety. Somatised pain. Turned down for DLA last year!

Wages keep me in physcial therapists and independence. Been badly treated by work since 06 so just joined the Union. Do I pull out all the old paperwork and make a case for numerous counts of - pick one or two - breach of contract, discrimination, bullying, broken promises and policies? By an organisation with a Royal Charter to be Open to diversity. The trouble with complaining is it makes for revisiting work trauma - not healthy. Sooooo hard to complain, was taught in childhood to keep silent, that it was my fault they beat me, so I've let work carry on for two years, just filing the paper away and writing down the feelings. Sorry probably not the right forum for this but to find somewhere I can post anything about this is a miracle. Thank you. Don't know how this thread stuff works or how to find a reply but it's good just to be able to put it out there and not keep it in here!

Hello Wildflower and welcome! I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a bad time.

I had some bad things happen to me at work after I became deaf, really shocked me to be honest as I didnt think that attitude still hung on from the dark ages! I really hope you can work through things; don't know what to suggest except that it might help to just talk to your union rep, even if you're not sure you want to take things any further. They cant take any action without your permission. And if you're putting up with a lot of bad stuf at work it will filter into your life and make everything else worse, so be easy on yourself. As for looking for work elsewhere - I know you mention problems with disability costs but maybe talk to Access to Work people?

Anyway, come in and make yourself at home and have a (seriously dodgy) group hug :grouphug:

Welcome aboard Wildflower - are you happy having your two litres of ice cream served with piping deep dish apple pie?

Oh and here is a large mug of hot chocolate made to your own specification to keep your hands warm this odd day!

Welcome Raeh and Wildflower, pull up your chairs by the fire *throws another log on* and get yourselves warm.

Wildflower - the organisations that shout loudest about their openess to diversity and their anti-discrimination stance, are often the ones who behave worst towards their employees. It is almost as if having a written anti- this-and-that policy is enough.

But try and relax in the cafe, and absorb the peaceful atmosphere, and try to replenish your strength x
