BZ only when I've forgotten to reorder
paha. Our pharmacy says you have to allow 48 hours from placing rpt prescription request to picking up, but as dad's in there often they let him pick up sooner most of the time
anything more than one, max 2 nights without it and I feel v sick, headpain gets worse etc, and that's just with 10mg! I was originally given it for pain and sleep, did nothing for sleep, and maybe a little for the pain
I never used to get that with 10mg, but now I'm on 25mg, even being a few hours late makes me feel ill. I did mention it to the doctors but he wasn't concerned...It makes me even more tired, but it does help me sleep through the night most nights now. Do you take yours right before sleep?Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Miserable.
Well I was gonna do some today but have ended up dog sitting as Dad has fallen over and has suspected broken shoulder. You don't bounce well when you're 85. Am quite concerned as he tends to go shocky when he falls and bleeds a lot as he's on Warfarin.
Sods law as he's been housebound for a while and this was really his first trip out in 8 months or so. It's really gonna take away the confidence he built up about going out so will have to find ways to bouy him up again, poor love.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Thanks to all of you about the move.
*hugs CWTA* Sorry about your dadHope you can make him feel better.

Oh, no, that's awful. I really hope his shoulder isn't broken. I agree it will take time to build up his confidence.
My 88 year old Grandad fell in the first lot of snow before Christmas, but luckily was just bruised. It's such a worry for elderly people going out in this weather. My Grandad only has to touch something to get a bruise - let alone actually fall.
I hope everyone is still tucked safely away.
I heard my local Tesco is rationing milk to 2 pints per customer, and has run out of potatoes and bread! Eek!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
CWTA, sorry to hear about your dad, hope he's ok?
SS, I read that Amitrip. takes 6 hours to reach it's peak level in your blood stream, and then is "working" for 8 hours after that. So to feel less drowsy the next day, take it 6 hours before you want to go to sleep/14 hours before you want to wake up. I try not to take it right before bed, but my dosset box only has morning noon and bed, which makes trying to get separate pills out to take at different times is difficult.0 -
Sorry to hear about your dad CWTA. Hope he's feeling ok - well, as ok as can be expected. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0

Hope your dad's not in too much pain when he gets home from hospital and that it hasn't shaken you all up too much Cwta"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
hi all, i have been reading this forum for a while now and thought it was time i said hello
is there room for 1 more in the cafe?
i'm 34 and have suffered with back, neck and shoulder problems for many years after a fall i had as a kid
at the moment i have a slight twist in my spine, frozen shoulder and my doc thinks i have rheumatoid arthritis in my lower back, hips and knee's (even tho the blood tests he did all came back clear) so apart from the pain meds i'm in serious need of some duck tape and no more nails to hold me together lol anybody got some spare?? lol
luckily my OH and kids have been great and do most things for me as even sweeping the small lounge floor leaves me in agony
i usually walk with the help of my stick but in this weather that isn't an option as i found out last week when i almost did a somersault on the path outside my front door, any other time i would of been over the moon as i have never been able to do somersaults before lol so now i just take my time and find something or someone else to hold on to
i hope everybody else is taking it easy in this weather0 -
hope your dad is ok CWAT my nan has a habit of falling and confidence is a mega issue after a bad fall!
Invasion, hope the pain clinic listen to you! is there any way you can get a referal through a different Dr than your regular one?
When i was on amitryptaline it was very effective, to the point that i nearly feel asleep when driving after taking it 2 days in a row..... now only take it if the pain is unbearable and if im not driving anywhere.
Saucy, how are you getting on? Better than me i hope!
Took my first Tramadol Friday night and slept like a baby, woke up feeling like i had drank 15 pints and got in a 2 am and had 4 hours sleep - but no pain!.
Because i was so tired (and side effects said to expect that) i took one (apparantly i get a choice lol) at 9am on saturday morning, by 10:30 i was barely consicous! We went to london to see a show an i pretty much slept the whole 3 hour journey.
Then, we get there, get onto the tube, and i slept almost the entire hour (should have been 20 mins but delays etc held us back)
Get to the theatre and i was doing everything i could to stay awake, pinching myself, biting my cheek, drinking water, putting on hand cream - everything i could not to fall asleep!!!!!
Came out of the theatre and had dinner - this was about 5:30 and the only tablet i had taken at this point was at 9am!!!
Took my naproxyn, ate, got back on the tube and i was still STANDING and dozing off!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decided i had to give the meds a chance and so took one more before we left at 8:30 - yup, by 9:00 i was asleep, slept all the way back, got home at 10:55 and went straight to bed, literally just woke up with what feels like the hang over from hell and like i could sleep some more.
So, long story short, OMG it makes me tired:rotfl:
Have decided to go back to the co-drydomol for the rest of the day and just put up with it until my specialist appointment on Friday, then on Monday i can call the Dr and ask for referal to the pain clinic for a longer term solution.
Plus side - no pain lmao
Hope everyone is ok with the weather, its snowing here again!
