Good morning!
What a busy time jojo! Hope your daughter does well and you recover soon! You must be exhausted."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
We have a swimming pool in both the front and back garden but not deep enough for me to get my togs off!!!
I've been using the SAD lamp this week with some benefit. I seem to be at my best in the morning and slump in mid-afternoon. Can I reserve the lounger by the fire in the cafe for this afternoon please.
I'm looking forward to ringing handbells at the free concert at Milton Keynes on Saturday (2.30 at the Cornerstone Centre adjacent to the Shopping Centre).
I also get to play the triangle in our team's solo "Past 3 o'clock". Excitement or what!

I played handbells at school, M.E.! I used to have F, F#, G and G#. Was fun, but the teacher in charge used to love tunes where there were incidentals and chromatic scales in the chords. Stressful but fun!
We had to wear white cotton gloves to protect the bells, and there was always someone who managed to clash two bells together at some point during practice - ouch!
Now going to collapse back into armchair. The cooker ignition has stopped working today, so we have no hob, grill or oven now. Tried lighting it with match, but it puffed back so far it frightened the life out of me. Still just about have all my eyebrows though!
Think I'll stick to the armchair.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Afternoon all.
Jojo I felt exhausted just reading about what you've been up to!! I'm with you on the gasping, yelping and swearing though - I seem to go through this every morning, trying to get my stupid joints to move.
"Falstaff" was brilliant on Saturday - it was a Glyndebourne On Tour production, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Mind you, I was totally out for the count yesterday - didn't even have a single teaspoon to my name.
Mr LW's on late shift today, so goodness knows what time he'll be home. Depends how many change request documents they get through - the poor beggar on lates gets to stay there til they're all done.
Sharon nice to see you - I was wondering how you were doing.
Right, offski now to see how the breadmaker's doing.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I don't think I have any spoons either - the Furry Dragon (tm) has nicked them all and buried them in the garden I reckon! At the moment getting out of bed, having a bath and getting dressed does me in (and sometimes the bath doesn't happen!), a couple of friends were supposed to be coming this weekend to stay and they have cried off - I was both sad and happy!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Ooooh! Good news! When rummaging for the instruction booklet for the cooker (like I have ever needed to read it before - all you do is turn the thing on, usually), guess what I found? A receipt showing that, where I was so picky and moody, the salesman added a free extended warranty on after a £70 discount, free delivery and installation - which means I can get the cooker fixed for free! (bounces up and down, clapping hands like a complete muppet before deciding that actually hurt a bit and must sit down again with more tea)
Now, OK, having phoned them, they haven't been able to book a visit until next Tuesday (they reckon the repair guys in this area both have swine flu), but claim that, as it's a cooker (and therefore somewhat important) they will put me down for any cancellations that arise. However, they promise that, unless it starts working the instant the repair guy walks into the kitchen, there will be absolutely nothing to pay - which sounds like my favourite range of prices.
In the meantime, I shall just have to use the clicky thingy to light it, but feeling pretty pleased I'm not having to stump up for cooker and installation just before Christmas!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
sharon Thanks for poppong in - have been thinking of you and hoping you were OK. Xmas Craft Fairs etc are the best! Great places to find uniwue gifts.
Ouchie on the fall down the stairs jaz. That does sound nasty. Hope you can play quietly for a bit until you recover.
Am wondering if we all chip in we could get a photocopier - for spoons? Mine have been MIA for weeks now and it sounds like you've all run out too.
I was a very angry and grumpy person last week and this week am feeling yucky. Have a cold coming on and (after having broken top plate and having to resort to horrid one that rips mouth to pieces) I have a mouth full of sores and ulcers( Finally getting to see dentist tomorrow, but suspect it will be at least a few days til healing starts whatever she does. I sooo want to eat solid food again.
Had to cancel planned visit to s/e tomorrow. Was due to stay there til Thursday, but we both feel it'll be better for me to wait until gob is healing.
Am full of worries and fears too at the moment and trying to stay stable - mental health wise, but it's been a difficult coupla months.
A friend of mine did make me laugh - I was having a wail and a moan about trying to reorganise the living room after ditching one sofa and how it was hard to get it looking nice and she sighed and said in a very solemn voice "Oh, I'm so glad I don't have your worries". LOL. Really made me chuckle)
To look on the bright side, I finally found my reading glasses after they were missing for a month or so which is good.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Top of the suspect list is the Furry Dragon. If the little chap's buried all Dragon's spoons in the garden, what's the betting he's had all ours as well?:D

Wouldn't surprise me - he has escaped from the garden on occasion!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I've had a busy but nice weekend after the funeral on Thursday. I went to a Holistic fair on Saturday and had a reading with a medium which took my breathe away, then on Sunday I went to a pagan workshop where we were taught how to make all these lovely craft things for gifts for Xmas like herbal bath sacthets, bath bombs, herbal sleep pillows , then in the afternoon they let us loose with all these material remnants, herbs and other craft type stuff, some of the women were really creative, I couldnt even see to thread a needle
but I brought some bits home to finish. I've ardered all the ingrediants I need for making bath bombs and cant wait to have a go, has anyone made them before ?
