LW I'm not brave hun, I know most of the women already :D if something comes up like that in your area see if your dh can go with you , or a good friend, there was a man there too, they are great fun and I know how much you love things like that.
Suep I still get very nervous just going to the local moot, even though Mr LW always comes with me. Actually, I won't be going to this months, as it's a "social" rather than a talk given by someone, and I don't think I can cope with a social.:(

Jaz shall we curl up in a corner and feel rotten together? I have a blinding headache today, and it's making me feel sick._pale_

    Aw, yes.

I managed to get through the day, but it was hell. I just wanted to cry all afternoon - I could barely function. I would have gone home if I hadn't had last week off.

    I wish I didn't have to work. :(

I hope your headache is feeling better now?

    Morning,
i havent been here before so be gentle, especially as i have had 3 days of mega pain.
I dont think the emotional impact has hit me with fibro, i have been very upbeat and i will be fine..but the reality is im not.
I got all stressed with a college assignment and by monday was in so much pain, i havent been for 2 days. I so so want to finish my course, even if getting this hateful condition may mean i cant even practise after i finish..im training to be a holistic therapist, but massaging people leave me in pain :o

sorry - i just dont have anyone else to tell, i tried with my family but my spte brother has a horrendous condition where 95% of his body is an open sore and the poor man is so poorly, im left with having to say nothing cause my mum just says be thankful your not him, which i am but now i just shut up.

I dont have a rhumy appointment yet, will be after xmas - i am keeping my diary.

but the absolute worst thing is i live in a 1st floor flat, its a council one and stairs are external -its at least a 500 metre walk from my car to the flat, im finding it so hard on bad days to get out,my feet are so sensitive and i get shooting pains, on top of the tiredness..but imstuck i cant apply to be rehoused without the rhumy doc seeing me, my GP is great and knows lots about fibro - she has done the tender point test and gone through everything.

feel free to tell me to get a grip im just finding the transition from the old me to this very hard...

thanks for reading if you have got this far

I had a rotten day yesterday, so although I lurked in the cafe I didn't post. Today is another day and feeling brighter.
So for everyone who is lurking... rest the muscles... except the smiling ones on your face.
We can all raise a smile for those who need cheering up.

    Ready get set SMILE

You have my sympathies; just after being diagnosed is a hard time. Is there anyway you can get the Rheumy appointment brought forward? Probably not as it's so close to Xmas.
My brain is not functioning properly today, so I don't have any words of wisdom, but you are amongst friends here and it's a safe place to talk about how you feel, pain, fears etc.
Maybe you could sit down quietly with your Mum and talk to her about how you being in pain is for you? That you're noty taking away from your brother's suffering, but that you could do with a little support to.
And, no, no-one here will tell you to get a grip. That's not what its about.
I hope you can find something that makes you smile today and I'm surte someone else will be along with more lucid words soon!

Just to update y'all on what's going on here... my cousin is back from London, and he says I can stay at his place for the next week, he's clearing out the spare room for me. So I'm going to have to fight with his stairs, but apart from that, should be okay. Plus, he's nearer the hospital where I see my pain management consultant, which appointment is Tuesday morning, so I won't have to get up so soon, which is helpful.
