Afternoon all. *puts basket beside fire and adds another log to fire*
Hel's teeth, but it's c-c-c-cold in Concrete Cow Country today.

Welcom Beth, hey, like Auntie Axe said, no-one'll tell you to get a grip. Pull up a chair, make yourself comfortable, and relax.:o

Jaz Thanks, the headache has gone today. Dunno why I've started getting so many migraines again; thought all that was stopped when I left the ex (in 2002). Must be because I'm stressed at the moment (a few scary:eek::eek: thngs coming up/being carefully ignored in the Wolf's Lair just lately).

Tria good news that you can stay with your cousin - be careful on the stairs, don't want you doing a Jaz on us!:o

*Waves* to everyone else. Gonna have yet another cup of tea now, in the hope of thawing out.:D

  • Hello peeps
Tria That sounds really good to be staying with your cousin. Must be a big relief to be out of that situation.

jaz Hope your bumps are bruises are healing.

lw Head stopped pounding? I think there is some link between being poorly and headaches as I never used to suffer from them before I became ill and they are a constant prescence.

I had a little bit of energy yesterday and managed to clean the bathroom and my bedroom. Then today is a slump day again. I think somehow everytime I have a little energy day, I expect it to be that I have turned the corner and that will come the norm iyswim and then the next day reverting back to "normal" is a bit of a psychological blow.
Still, at least some of the housework got done anyway.

Awwww, Auntie Axe I know what you mean. There's always that little tiny spark of hope that you might even be starting to get better then when you revert to being spoonless, it's a real downer.

I was pleased with myself yesterday - I deposited Mr LW at the Post Office and wheeled myself to the card shop to get his birthday card (about 2 shops away) without having a panic attack!!:T

  • Well done!! At a busy time of year too. You must be really chuffed with yourself.
    Three cheers. Hip Hip Hooray!

    Well done LW
welcome beth, dont worry everyones really supportive here.

I managed to get to a couple of shops today and while I was out I saw a young woman sitting in an electric scooter, with her legs inside a sleeping bag, I thought what a good idea, I hate using mine or my wheelchair this time of year as it's even colder when your sitting still isnt it.

    Hope everyones keeping warm

Sue, you can get special ones that attach to the handles of the wheelchair, so it keeps all the way up your legs, your back and your bum warm too! Ebay have a good range, as there is one particular brand name that are more expensive.

LW and Jaz, hope you're both feeling a little better! Also, well done LW on recent outing!

Trialia, hope your move to your cousins goes ok.

CWTA, almost too cruel to have days where you feel more "normal"- in a still ill sense of the word. Hope you're doing ok :)

Getting on oko with the Lyrica, still no pain relief from it though, then again am only on minimum dose, start upping it again tomorrow, hope that goes accident free! Really struggling with skin sensitivity, put on a lovely soft pair of the brightly coloured bedsocks, and OUCH. Could feel all the lovely soft fibres digging into me, gave them to mum to try on who couldn't feel it, so just me, happened with a pair of pretty socks I bought yesterday too :( It's almost as though I can feel the "grid" that they're sewn through if that makes *any* sense?!

Just ordered new double bed today, could take until January to be delivered, but looking forward to it, my single bed is somewhat restrictive, not enough room to wiggle, and to live in, with all my many pillows :p

Too right, that's an ingenious solution! Kiddies get them in prams, so I spose it's only logical!

Hope you get some relief with the Lyrica soon. I felt like I had a bit more energy more than less pain I think?

As for the skin sensitivity - my ankle was terrible when I had my incident, and the physio got me and hubby systematically to do gentle massage (just skin surface) with various textures - hands, rough towels, etc. It really did take the sensitivity down over the space of a couple of weeks it was LOADS better. Maybe you could try that?

It does make sense - re the socks. Maybe you could try wearing them inside out? My SIL and nieces swear by it  And there's nowt wrong with them...apparently ;)

I'm a bit down at the moment, I've been through our budgets and through all our accounts and such and worked out just how skint we are. It's really not a pretty picture, going from not being able to cover our (basic) outgoings.... to finding out just how much debt he (and therefore I/we) is in... I'm devastated. Even if it wasn't much of a surprise in theory, it still was to see totting up in black and white. It was awful :( What was worse was the realisation that if I was able work fulltime and we ploughed that wage into the debts we could probably pay it off in about 3 years....so that made me feel even worse. Especially after beating myself up for not looking into it closer months ago and letting it get worse in the process iyswim? I'm gutted. Not least because it dawned on me that until we're in a better position financially we can't even think about having kids  Even if I didn't want them right this minute, it was nice to be able to entertain the possibility and think ahead... but now I can't even bear the thought cos I know it's not possible now. :( Does that make sense?

Sorry that was a bit of a downer to end on! Hope everyone who's quiet/I've missed are ok?:o

Hi sharon  I hope you find the mcmillan nurse's advice helpful. Thinking of you and your family. Did you manage to get your craft projects done for your kids?

It is quiet in here today isn't it!
