*crawls in* Still alive, and glad to see most of you are as okay as usual. *hugs around* Things aren't going well over here. I'm not in a fatigue flare anymore, but that isn't for want of the stress to induce it! I'm staying with various friends at this point because I am too scared to go home by myself - that is how bad that situation has become. I'm not physically scared, I just cannot take being locked in my room and afraid to come out for one more night.
Anyway, went to the council, and they talked to the people who run the housing register. Apparently expediting my disability assessment for that is the best option for getting me a new home as quickly as they can, and so they're coming out to my 'official' residence to do that next Thursday (and I will be there. Not alone, but I will). Hopefully, that will speed up the chances of me getting a ground-floor flat and all.
As for other things, my computer finally gave up the ghost once and for all. I was a bit panicky to start with, but yesterday I went into Carphone Warehouse and I now have the first brand new laptop of my life. £40 a month for the next two years, out of my DLA, but it is SO worth it, since my computer is my lifeline and my primary pastime as well! She's a gorgeous laptop. I'm trying to figure out what to call her, but she'll probably end up being 'River'. 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Windows 7, built-in webcam, DVD-RW... most of the stuff I need, in fact. And she's so pretty! Not Miss MSE with this, but it's a lot easier for me than buying a new one would have been, because I'd have had to go without until I could save up.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. It's very different to XP, I agree. I like it much more than I did Vista so far, though. I hated that OS, I refused to use it.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Yay on the new puters! They really are a lifeline for us aren't they.
sue I haven't made bath bombs but am intrigued by the process. Would love to hear how you get on with them and maybe have a go myself some day.
Have got all crafty here - am making a knitted blanket, making a couple of Xmas decorations for my first ever Xmas tree of my own and have been doing quite a bit of baking. It's all really housework avoidance. *g*
I need to re-organise the living room after ditching an old, sad, saggy sofa and really don't feel like humping furniture around.
Off to dentist later for (hopefully) some relief from my poor, sore mouth. Want to be able to eat solid food again.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Suep I'd love to go to a craft workshop type of thing, but I'm far too much of a wuss. Let us know how you get on with doing the bath bombs.
Tria I hope you can get your housing situation sorted out pronto; it's been too much stress for you for far too long. Fingers firmly crossed for Thursday (although I have to uncross them to type posts):D
CwtA Good luck at the Fang Farrier. I've had many, many days of living on scrambled egg, yogurt and soup, so you have my total sympathy. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
wow bath bombs let me know how to make them too ! is it carbonate of soda in them ? some thing like that ?the truth is out there ... on these pages !!0
-
paw That's what I wondered.
Tria I'm sorry - I meant to post about housing before and it went off into the ether. Wot lw said. Hope you get it truly sorted this time.
Thank you for good wishes re Fang Farrier lw. She was very sympathetic and helpful. Things in the top half of mouth are sorted now (fingers crossed) and she's given me stuff for the ulcers on the base of my mouth so she can look at those issues next week when it's not so painful. Ok heres the recipe for bath bombs, dont forget I havn't tried it myself yet, so if anyone makes them before me let me know how you got on.
You will need a spritz bottle of rose water, I got my bottle from the empty travel bottles section in Boots and the rose water from near the perfume counter there.
1 1/2 cups of bicarbonate of soda
1/2 cup of citric acid
2 tsps of almond oil
20 drops of essential oil
1/2 cup of sea salt
2 spoons of cocoa butter scrapings
You can add things like dried flowers/herbs or glitter if you like that sort of thing.
Mix everything in bowl together
spritz it with rose water
mould it quickly and wrap in either celephane or muslin and tie with a ribbon.
Dont forget if it's a gift for someone find out what scents they like, not everyone loves lavender like me. Tangerine is good for most people, chamomile is calming and geranium is good for older women, but use any favourites.
LW I'm not brave hun, I know most of the women alreadyif something comes up like that in your area see if your dh can go with you , or a good friend, there was a man there too, they are great fun and I know how much you love things like that.

Ooh Trialia - I hope they sort it out soon. I have to say I completely understand your situation. Our stairs are awful, really steep and narrow, and I've fallen down three times now. This last time I really bruised all my spine, and now every time I go down the stairs I feel sick and shake.
We now have a slightly higher band with the council, but when we moved into this house a couple of years ago, all the white goods were provided, and we had to move in urgently, so gave away all our items.
So if we now bid for a council house, we will have to buy everything back and so we have so much to save before we can move."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
I had a day off from work yesterday, had my swine flu jab and now my arm is very sore! The internet was down ALL day, ugh!
I have to say I'm feeling rubbish today. I started a new medication that causes insomnia, and last night I didn't get to sleep until 5am. Now have work all day, and just want to cry.
I have chronic fatigue, and normally do sleep - just very lightly. I can't cope with no sleep, but had last week off work ill - I can't miss another day."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
