BZ No chocolate?! That's a little scary! Thanks for the pregabalin info, today is second day of 3x 50mg, and I fell into the stairs (I was in the hall at the time, and fell into the bit kind of under the stairs..) will have big bruise on shoulder, very painful and achey all down arm. Have resorted to one, and then both crutches in the house for time being to avoid any more incidents! Just had second dose of the day today, and not as bad... took Cinnarizine at the same time for the dizzy/drunk feeling, tis bizarre how even if i don't "feel" dizzy my body is...?!
Jaz hope you're not *too* sore today! And that you slept ok?0 -

Oh dear, we're not getting on with stairs at the moment, are we!
My hip, knee and coccyx are rather agonising. I can deal with the aching, but hate the sharp pain whenever I move. Sleeping was annoying - I kept waking up whenever I moved through pain.
Thanks for asking though.
Had a bit of a trauma today though - my radiator hasn't been working properly, so my mum tried bleeding it. She's done it before, and it always went okay, but this time part of the screw fell out, and the key dropped out, and it started gushing water everywhere! It was boiling hot water, so she couldn't get the key in.
Our stupid letting agents doesn't have an emergency number - how ridiculous is that. Our landlord lives miles away, so couldn't have helped. Think we're going to have to insist on an emergency number though. What if there was a flood or something?
In the end my cousin came to help - he's an electrician though! Water, electrics... same thing, right?
Managed to get it back in, but after about 20 minutes of water pouring out - soaked the carpet, which is a horrible seagrass one, and the curtain next to the radiator dyed all the water red as it came out, so we're praying the carpet doesn't dry red. The water came through the ceiling a bit as well into the living room. Fun times!
So rather traumatic day. I thought the whole room was going to be flooded with boiling red water!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

I'm on 150mg a day but split into 75mg morning and night. I started off taking just 75mg at night for about a week and then upgraded to 150mg (more because I kept forgetting to take the morning one than anything planned). It does knock you a little sideways at first but was worth if for me, hope it is for you too. I tried going up to 150mg at night and 75mg in the morning, but it made my bladder ache, like I felt like I had a UTI all the time and it did my head in too much.:o

My mum bought my a lovely jade bracelet for Christmas at the fair - I have it on though, so hope she forgets and doesn't whisk it away until Christmas day!
I got some really nice bath salts there last year, but no luck this year.purplecatlover wrote: »holiday got booked this week, egypt this year. i am spoilt. now i just have to find the passport i seem to have lost.

Wow, how lovely! When are you going?"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Hi all, hope everyone's aches and pains ease off for the new week.
Been far too busy down here recently, I've been going to loads of OU tutorials - only realised last year that, if you feel like you need a bit more help (or you feel too rough to get to your own tutorials) you can just show up at any your course is offering throughout the country!
So, having had one 3 weeks ago that had a rubbish tutor, had a short tutorial the following Tuesday, then a vastly improved longer one the following Saturday, then one of my own again yesterday. And it feels like the stuff has actually sunk in now.
However, this has also coincided with DD1's 17th birthday and DD2 going on 2 school trips and taking the entrance exam for the local girls' school.
So: urgent prioritisation.
Last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Copious quantities of painkillers. Much gasping, yelping and swearing and very little physical activity.
Food shopping: left it all to the nice man from Ocado.
Cat product shopping: as above
Then we get to Wednesday. Deep breath -
DD1 present shopping: 3 trips, 3 days, 3 hours each, most of which spent resting rather than actually shopping. Tried online but couldn't choose, had to see things myself. Fit to drop when back from shops so very little housework done Wed Thu Fri.
DD2's school trips: let her go to the corner shop in the afternoon and choose her own packed lunches. Cost £5 with extra choccies and crisps eaten by teatime, but she was extremely happy with the power. And she bought fruit.
Squeezed in both flu jabs Thursday.
Friday. DD1's birthday. Spread it out over a long weekend. Let her dictate what she did. BF spent lots of time here, both DDs spent lots of time at his. Bought profiterole pyramid and stuck indoor sparklers in it instead of candles. She beamed when it came in (and never cared about not having a cake baked for her), so that was a good idea.
By Saturday, I was really struggling as I hurt in places that don't usually and I felt so weedy. But I would rather do that than get flu.
DD2's entrance exam. No pressure. If she hasn't learnt it by now, cramming will just make her stressed. Had run through a sample paper cuddled up in the armchair the night before, asking her 'just have a look and tell me how you would approach the questions'. Dropped her off myself (that was non negotiable, even with a mile [STRIKE]walk[/STRIKE] limp in the cold of Saturday morning). She went in giggling, unlike many children who looked as though they were going to cry, and their mums looking as though they were going to be sick. Got DD1 and BF to pick her up as pretty incapable of movement after tutorial finished and struggled home. Paid for them to go and see New Moon in the morning, so they were quite happy to oblige. She came out grinning. Whether she has got a place or not, who knows, but she had a lovely time anyway and made a new friend, who she has exchanged email addresses with! Fell asleep on sofa for 4 hours during the early evening. Girls tossed blanket over me and went to watch DVDs in bed. They fell asleep by 9.30 and didn't wake up until 10 this morning, having spent night cuddled up together.
Got to today. Did birthday meal out (never realised how much sushi two skinny beans could pack away in an hour, but great traditional Sunday lunch!). Flu jabs have gone already, like I never had them.
Tonight. Full of sushi, tea and painkillers. Heating on full blast, got lovely soft socks from Uni Qlo and vegetating on sofa. Cats calling a temporary truce to pass out on sofa with me.

Christmas will have to wait another week.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
