Hi yes brown the chicken first and cook it til the rice is done. It is so nice with Mash potato tho I know Pot and Rice dont normally go together but strangely it is very comforting,

I reckon that sauce will go with any meat. I am going to add Juniper Berries next time as I reckon it may tone the sweetness down a tad and they are I believe in season,they were going very cheap in my local Waitrose earlier.

I know most of us on this forum have slow cookers so my question is not looking for a recipe as such but rather, which is your absoloute favourite dish that you cook in your slow cooker. I am sure the recipe would be in the indexed collection at any rate. Mine would have to be Chilli con carne, the recipe that came with my morphy richards sc.Penny xxx
