Check-out the link that Gingham Ribbon has in her earlier post (16) - it's got everything you need to know.
Mine came with no instructions so it was trial and error too.
Don't worry it'll be fine.0 -
Unless the thing has an electrical fault, it should be perfectly good. They're really idiot-proof!
The easiest thing to start with would be a cheap beef roast. Chop up a carrot and an onion. Maybe add some frozen veg. Or some chopped potato. Add salt and pepper and set it for low for a few hours. It will be soooo good and easy. (Oh, and a can of cream-of-pretty-much-whatever soup goes a long way to making it extra-special.):beer:0 -

After reading this thread I thought to give the slowcooker a go. I have one which is about 10 years old, never used. Is a Twin Heat Cordon Bleu . is it anygood. i haven't got any instructions, so don't know how to use it.
any help very welcomed
This is the one I have, and I must say it is the best slow cooker I have ever used. I don't have any instructions, I just follow any slow cooker recipe and it comes out fine. Love it!!!:happylove0 -
I use my slow cooker quick a lot for stews and soups but my most favourite thing is Gammom - I puy any old gammon joint in there with some boiling water and a little orange juice and then just forget about it all day.
Sometimes I put a mixture of honey and mustard over the top and finish it off in the oven for 10/15 minutes but if im pushed for time I dont bother. We like it served with mash and carrots.
I always chose the biggest joint I can get in there so the next day I have left overs - might have gammon & bubble and squeak, gammon egg and chips or gammon salad. However I often sit down in front of the telly with a plate of cold gammon and mustard - lovely.0 -

Hi guys:j :j
Thought I should update you on my cooking......... I made a very nice pork stew... that the whole family eat!!! even sent some for my mil :T :T to get some brownie points!
today I put sausages, tomatoes, and mushrooms, and it looks lovely I added some garlic and paprika.
I think this is going to be my salvation because I don't want to keep spending loads of money on prepack food and this is much healthier.
So A BIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGG THANK TO YOU ALL0 -
I've just bought 8 (large) free range chicken legs from M&S for under £3, and I've got a carton of mild mushroom soup (covent garden) reduced to 50p. This is going to go in, alongside a few bits and pieces and I'm taking it to feed mum-in-law and rest of the family over the weekend. Should be yummy

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
