how did you make the venison casserole as i have some cubed venison in the freezer i was going to casserole in slow cooker sometime this week but wasnt sure what to add as i havent had venison all that often

I just put a whole lot of veg( sorry babybrain) in with the browned venison added a bouquet garni and covered in beefstock.
the lady at the shop told me to add berries for the last hour as the deer eat berries so the berries complement the venison but I did not feel like going to the shop again.

Just a thought Anne, could your mum use a three to two pin adaptor to use the UK version where she is? Like we do our hairdryers etc when we go on hols????
Great to see some new recipies being posted, I really must dig mine out again. I used to use mine loads when I was working long hours and before that when my kids were little, making that nites meal and at the same time preparing the next days, putting it in the pot, storing in the fridge then in the morning, just dropping it into the SC as I went out the door, easy! And that way I only had to cook every other night.0 -
thanks ally we did think about that but my mum dopes not like the idea of leaving the sc like that in the house all day I have some appliances (lol a gameboy) that I need to use an adaptor for but would not leave it charging when I am not in the house just does not feel right.

Yea ur rite of course Anne, just asked someone that should know and its to do with the earth Im told. Our hairdryers tend to be plastic and as most plastic bodied hairdryers are double insulated they don't need earth, metal bodied ones generally do
So.... its not just a question of changing the plug or running it thro an adaptor. Whilst 99% of the time it will probably be ok, if there was a bad connection, not only in the appliance, but in the house/hotel wiring, you could get a shock
so with a "health and safety" hat on, I'm told go buy the correct thing
Phew glad we cleared that up and sorry if I misled anyone with my very much off the cuff suggestion!
Well done gal

I found this site - http://busycooks.about.com/od/slowcookerrecipes/Crockpot_Recipes_Slow_Cooker_Recipes.htm
This is a US site and they call the slow cooker a "crockpot" but some of the recipes look quite good and there are plenty to choose from.0 -
I've also just dowloaded some recipes from the Morphy Richards site. There are several links relating to their different products but here are just a few -

We love red cooked pork and I wondered if it would work in a slow cooker- I'm worried that it will take on some off flavours. Does anyone here cook their's this way?
I know, I could try and find out but why waste all that meat if someone already knows the answer!NSD 0/150 -
Umm ... basic question. What is red cooked pork? Are you talking about pork that is still pink in the middle or that really savoury chinese-style pork with the spicy coating? If you think reality makes sense, you're just not paying attention!0
