Holidays have been my one big luxury. Now its just me though I can't see me going anyway. Don't think I am the sort of person that could go somewhere on there own, but I suppose never say never.
Yeah appetite is coming back now and I'm eating more or less normally.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Glad to hear your appetite has returned. I was worried about you.
I'm sure in time and when the debt is gone, your passion for going on holidays will come back again and you and your little girl will go on some wonderful and fun holidays together.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Awww if you saw me you wouldn't be worried I have plenty of fat reserves to get by on :rotfl:
Yeah I hope so. My sister has suggested about us going camping in the summer so that may be a nice cheap option for some days away. Too soon to be thinking that far ahead at the moment. Need to get used to the single person budget first.
Not great months to start either as obviously December has Christmas and January is a really long month as I get paid early :mad:Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Yeah, I get paid early too and find January so long then! I will be just making payments in dribs and drabs but they do count up so not so bad really.
Oh I love to be sub 10k by this time next year!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Am delighted. I just sold a pair of boots for £39.99 on Ebay and have a dress on there for £7.00 with 4 hours to go. This will help me a lot this month as I have only been able to make minimum payments due to Xmas coming up. It is a good incentive to keep me going during the long months of December and Jan.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I bet you could be sub £10k by Xmas 09
.
Maybe work out how much on top of your normal monthly payments you would have to throw at your debt to get sub 10K. Might give the motivation to keep ebaying.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

What a good idea Doodledoo!
I just did a rough estimate and it should be about about £690 per month on top of my minimum payments. I should be able to manage £300 but when OH gets a job after Xmas (part-time) or in the summer (full-time) that should even out and I think I might be able to make it. How exciting!
Just got an email from Boots too to say they received my phones and have credited 2000 points to my Advantage card so now have 4500 there. Will be able to buy the other part of my sisters present for her birthday and also my Dad's Xmas present. Am delighted! Am nearly there for Xmas, and for the first time ever, not in more debt (so far).Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thats good news then sounds like its do-able and when your OH has a full time job you will be able to up the payments and cover those months where you might not be able to hit the whole £690.
I love Boots points and have bought quite a few of my Xmas presents using mine.

The Boots points are unreal. I only joined in October but can't believe how good they are, and the 3 for 2 as well. It's brill.
Yeah, it is a great feeling knowing that Xmas is not on the credit card. All the other years it was and it was horrible then in January. I used to feel so guilty about how much I'd spent. Half of the time I did last minute shopping and ended up spending a fortune. It's amazing what you can save when you are organised and put a bit of thought into things.
I have a shop from Sainsbury's coming today and I managed to get 3 for 2 on Xmas presents there so I got my Granny's, Grandfather and part of MIL's birthday present there. Am feeling really in control of my finances today :ATotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
