Hi CMD,
I'm good thanks, struggling slightly in the warmer weather tho! Can't believe I've only got just over 3 months left - I feel like I've got so much to do still!!
Don't get too down about your debt, every little bit you pay off is one step closer, so keep going. Even if you have to have a little break to prioritise buying things for Max, you've still managed to pay off over 2/3rds of your debt already!! You'll get there! x
Thanks Jmf!
Wow - only 3 months left!!! I'm sure it is difficult in this warm heat. I had morning sickness in the middle of summer and it was horrible. How are you getting on wth stuff for the baby? Have you a lot of stuff gotten already?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Am now under 9k and can't wait to get to under 8k, although that will be a few more months yet
Am having a bit of a tough time at the moment. I am feeling very homesick since I came back from the wedding (for the first time in 16 years!) and feel like I would like to live near my family. I never could have imagined I would feel like this but I suppose having Max has made me like this. I have talked to OH about how I am feeling and he is stunned but has agreed to chat some more about the possibility. The problem being that Ireland is going through a worse recession than here, with no jobs
I think what has made it worse is that we moved here because of OH's job rather than because we wanted to. I am very grateful that he has a job but can't shake these feelings at the moment
I was also meant to go for an interview last week and totally mixed the dates up and missed it. I was mortified at the time, as it was an ideal job, but in hindsight maybe it happened for a reason.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Sorry to hear you're feeling bit down CMD. I guess it's very understandable though now that you have Max and want to be part of and near your family. Are you and OH both from the same part of Ireland? Glad he's willing to talk about it as well, though it might not happen straight away with the recession. Good luck. Hope you have nice friends around to make you feel better. (((hugs)))DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Thanks Tirlittan,
Myself and OH are from different parts, although I lived where he is from for 3 years. It would be a move back to Dublin (where I am from) as realistically that is where the jobs are, and where the support is too.
I think it is good to even get it off my chest and then we can make a decision about it at some stage in the future. The way I am feeling now, I would like to move where I have some support.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

hi cmd - you are doing really well debt busting wise - take a moment to congratulate yourself.
I understand about wanting to be back close to family. I live about an hour away from 2 different sets of relatives that I know can help me out if needed - that's close enough for me but not too far away eitherAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

We have been having lots of discussions and we have 99% decided that we want to move home. It could take up to a year for OH to get another job though so I need to try and make the most of the life I have here.
I have been getting out and about and meeting people, but I am struggling a bit as I have sort of pulled away from here now that I know I am leaving at some stage.
Moneywise - another £200 has gone off the debt. We are having a very quiet month because my parents and a set of friends are over at the end of July and we will spend lots then I'm sure.
Virgin have managed to completely muck up my 0% balance transfer and are charging me the full interest at the moment. I need to write to them again, as I find their phone customer services rubbish.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I managed to get a VIP slot at the Next sale so got quite a bit for Max, but he will be kitted out for the next year
Moneywise - not a lot going on here. Am trying to get sorted out for Xmas and bought some presents in the sales. That way I won't be panick buying and spending a fortune in December. So far I have some presents for Max, for my Godson, for OH's godson, for FIL and for MIL. I just have more for Max and OH to get for, plus a secret santa present that myself and my family do every year.
I am trying to be as organised as possible with present this year but there seems to be an wedding/birth/birthday every month and I am struggling to keep up.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I have decided to try and wait for December before buying this year as usually I end up spending lots throughout the year on possible presents and buy too many. My first year of MSE (this is going in to my third now) I had most presents bought and wrapped by July LOL as I cleared down my present stock!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi all,
I finally sat down and was honest with myself about how out of control I have become with the spending. So I have decided to start a new diary to mark a new chapter in my life. It is here:
