That sounds like a good plan CMD. Hope you get a good offer.
I've been approved for the 0% 0 fee Santander Zero card, just waiting them to sort themselves out and finally send it to me, so I know how much my limit is and how much I can transfer from virgin. Then maybe at some point I'll apply for the M&S More card to clear my s.loan from abroad...
Good that you managed to clear that much TMD, that is a shocking interest rate!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hi Tirlittan
Thanks, one of the cards I cleared was M&S More as the 2 year 7.9% rate ran out this month.
Hopefully I'll get some balance transfer offers from the cards I've paid off or might try and get another card with 0% interest. My Barclaycard is good as they give me 6.9% until paid off but the offer is not there at the moment as I am near my limit but hopefully in a few months when I've paid a bit more off hopefully I'll be able to transfer some more over.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

I found out today that I'm paying 23.9% on my MBNA card now, I was lucky that I paid off over £8k last week when my Endowment money cleared into my account. So just need to hope that I get some decent balance transfer offers from any of the 4 cards I paid off last week.
How is little Max doing?
That's a fantastic amount to have paid off TooMuch. How did you feel paying it off?
Max is gorgeous but was very unsettled this morning. My OH opted to work from home and let me sleep til 1pm so I am feeling refreshed and very lucky to have such a supportive partner.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Good on you for getting the Santander card! I have been afraid to apply for a credit card cos I have moved so much in the last few years. When I am 1 year at this address (Oct 2010) I think I will try again, although Virgin has been okay so far.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I gave it ago even though I've only been in my current address for 2 months! Bit of a risky tactic, but seems it has paid off. I was just over 3 years in the one before that though.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

It did feel good paying it off. Only sad thing is most of the money has gone now, I have about £1600 left so am going to put £500 in my ISA and my Car Insurance is due next month.
That was lovely of your OH to let you lie in.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Good idea to put some in savings
Yeah, my OH is a sweetheart even if he does drive me mad with his scattyness at times! Just got my settlement figure and it was about £1500 more than I was expecting but is valid until May 2010 so I can just do a balance transfer for some of the money and see if what we want to do with the baby savings. I don't want to use all the savings as it means things will be tight for us.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Shame the settlement figure was so much more than expected.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
